Presswerk Praise and Future Plugins?

Just wanted to say that Presswerk is an absolutely KILLER compressor. I'll tell you this, I absolutely HATE overly complicated plugins, I can't stand when a plugin has TOO many parameters that end up causing you to overly-think mix decisions and sometimes, question yourself. For instance, my some of my favorite processors are Massey's CT5 (one of the simplest compressors out there, but it works on loads of material) and SonEQ Pro.
Anyway, I almost didn't demo this, because it frightened me! But after demoing, I was hooked. While it looked daunting to begin with, it is absolutely a ball to play with. Its fun and actually not that difficult. Its well-laid out. Though I will admit, there's just a few controls that I still don't understand, even after tweaking and reading the manual. Anyway, this thing is VERY cool! This is actually my first U-He purchase ever, as I'm not a big synth guy, (though the day I do get into synths, I'll probably be back at the U-He site!)
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the magnificent product! I was wondering if you had any plans for Presswerk complimentary EQ. I know that you already have an EQ under the Uhbik line, but would you ever consider a more versatile one, something that would compliment Presswerk and be under the same philosophical approach? This thing is sweet and I'd love to own more products that are built like this!

Thank you
We don't know yet where we go with things, 2014 was a very busy year. I'm sure though there'll be more sophisticated plug-ins for mixing and mastering, as well as more creative/fun plug-ins. There are a few ideas for EQs as well, but no concrete plans to actually do one.

I noticed that people were really into the spring reverb Sascha coded for Bazille, and that Urs said they were considering expanding it to its own thing (or maybe that was the plate reverb in Diva?).
Would be very interesting if they continued Sascha's trend of making toolkit plugins.
I'd be very curious about a plate/spring reverb sim that allowed you to mess with the properties of the vibrating body. Size, density, thickness etc. Though maybe that wouldn't sound as interesting as one might expect.

A well sounding, easy to use Vocoder, would fit right to the image of u-he in my opinion. You know with all the nerdy madular stuff, analog emulations and such.Phil999 wrote:yes, filter, EQ, vocoder, that would be most interesting.

A vocoder seems more like a 'specil interest weapon' to me.
What about a nice "The Drop" competitor (now that we have a "The Glue" one now)?
Of course a U-he kind of "Ozone" complete mastering suite would be a dream (with PW and Satin as the first parts).

Maybe as a nice free-of-charge- Uhbik addon?knowix wrote:I noticed that people were really into the spring reverb Sascha coded for Bazille, and that Urs said they were considering expanding it to its own thing (or maybe that was the plate reverb in Diva?).

A modernised version of Filterscape is surely an option.2ZrgE wrote:What about a nice "The Drop" competitor

Actually, Presswerk would be THE ONLY Rack Extension I would consider.
And it could be, more than probably, the most popular sale yet.
I know, I know.... a useless post....

Hell yeah. Count me in for the next mixing effect !
I use Satin and Presswerk daily now. Mix into them.
Hope you'll consider a tube saturation/harmonics generator toolbox.

By the way Urs, are you guys still planning on re-implementing some sort of simple views on Presswerk? I didn't even know Presswerk existed during its beta process, so I never experienced the classic views, but it seems a little bit interesting. On the other hand, I'm not entirely sure they are even needed. It's perfect as is really.

True that !joe_04_04 wrote:By the way Urs, are you guys still planning on re-implementing some sort of simple views on Presswerk? I used the beta but now that they're gone, I don't miss them one bit. Having 1 layout with all the controls is good IMHO.
