Hi all,

Yesterday I reinstalled my software while trouble shooting a problem. It fixed the problem I was having with my sessions crashing, but now mulab is behaving as it did in demo version. I've tried re-inserting my user key, and I've given the software ample time to respond to this measure, but I continue to hear the random disruptive noises during my session.

Do I need to get another user key?

I made sure that there is only one instance of mulab on my machine and even restored my system to before my trouble-making yesterday.

Thanks, as always.

Which version of MuLab are you using?
See MULAB menu -> Info -> About MuLab.
If you have inserted a user key you should also see your name there.
Else it will say "MuLab Free" there.

I'm using version 6.0.35.

I do see my name there in the area you mentioned.

I thought it might have to do with a vst plug-in, so I starting working with a new session and only the factory presets. The noises remain. It's takes a bit for them to set in. It's not that sort of soft crescendo of hissing that I've read about. They're instead variable bursts of sound that I remember from much earlier times using the demo version.

Intersting.

That means you didn't properly update the MuLab.ID file.
Best is to do a full install of the latest MuLab 6.3.6 zip package, then copy over your user settings from M6.0.35.

Then things should be fine AND you're can use all new & improved features added in M6.1, M6.2 and M6.3.

FYI:

This is how the demo noise sounds:

This is how it sounds when MuLab.exe and MuLab.ID are not matching, a situation which should never occur:

I followed your recommendations, and all is good so far. In general, thanks for your responsiveness. Mulab software and support are outstanding.
