Here is another new small feature of T6. You can now selected several clips and merge them without going through the intermediate dialog box. This video shows how it works:

Thanks Bill. I've been watching your T5 videos on Groove as I've been through all of your Studio One 2 vids... I live on Groove these days... I have a question about T5/6. Does the count-in not work in loop mode? I see it does in punch and with loop off? I'm still getting my head around T latest but there are some really interesting new features and the stability has improved a lot.

Thanks!

Count in doesn't work in loop mode at present. Its a long standing feature request and Devs have said it may be looked at later.

Seems like that was an old feature request/problem... probably was the dropping note thing. But it works now with multiple pass throughs so I think that's a working solution. Thanks.

Yes, exactly!

Hmmm... Is there a way to select a group of clips on screen or a key command... other than selecting the top bar on a single clip and select all? Maybe I'm missing something there?

Hold down alt/option to enable the lasso and then drag over a range of clips.

This only works for the left alt key. Due to issues with hand/wrist damage I switched to using a mouse left-handed a while back. It would be nice for the right alt key to also work.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Yep that works... thanks folks!

Shift select works if all the clips in the group are together:

1. Click the first clip
2. Hold shift
3. Click the last clip

New question: The new step clip seems to default to midi channel 10? Is there any way to change that... and why does it do that in the first place??? Maybe a drum programming thing, most of my plugins default to channel 1. Hmmm...

Post

10 is the default channel for drum tracks. I can't see a way to alter the default; perhaps you could save a template with them all set to channel 1. Does it matter what the channel is if you're not sending the output to a hardware MIDI device?

Well, it's another step to go in and change either the channel in the plugin... or alter the channels in the clip, but yes, you can create a clip template which is pretty cool in itself – because you can customize all the note values and names to a given plugin. I wish you could use the add clip function to select from the clip templates though... that would really be cool. You have to select from the clips in the browser to use the saved ones. Still works though!

Which plug-ins require you to set a MIDI channel?

None... to set the plugin to channel 10 is what I meant.
