midi problem

Tracktion 5 64 bit
Win 7 64 bit

I use both a yourock guitar via usb in to the computer and also at times a yamaha keyboard with midi out to my M-audio profire 2626 to record midi parts for VSTI's. I use EZdrummer2 and Sampletank 3.

Last year I used both of these with Reaper without problem. If I remember right I also used both with Tracktion 4 without problem. My problem is one of losing the timing with the recordings. When I first fire up Tracktion and open a project and use either controller to record midi in, it works fine. At first. The recordings are correct and in time with what I played. However, after a few minutes something happens where while I'm playing along to the music recording a midi part it sounds perfectly in time through my monitors (ex-adding a violin part to a song), but when I play it back, my midi parts are coming in EARLIER than when I played them. This is evident on the midi clips as well, they all start slightly BEFORE the beat, even though I played them ON the beat. How is this possible? And it happens with both the keyboard and the yourock guitar, which have different midi inputs to Tracktion, and with different VSTI's.

Any help appreciated. I hope I described the problem OK.

Perhaps possible due to some sort of automatic latency defeating function. Don't know the answer, but someone will.

Try "Use MIDI Driver for MIDI Timing" on MIDI Devices settings page

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try it later tonight.

"use midi driver for midi timing" was already checked. I unchecked it and at least in the last 10 minutes, it seems to be working fine now with both controllers and both VSTI's.Playback is in time with the click track!
