Post of the year, look forward to the responses
You can easily demo ACE in the comfort of your own home which you dont need to remortgage to buy a 55.

It looks like it has multi band filter, like it was demonstrated in that video he used it with noise. Looked pretty intresting. But i cannot find a way to do it in Ace. Cheak it at 2:45 of this video

Well Modular synthetizers are not easy to use.chilly7 wrote:I have a demo version of Ace. But i am not expert in it so i ask people who know more then me.MFXxx wrote:Post of the year, look forward to the responses

In any case compare ACE to Moog Modular V by Arturia. That way you can really compare how both function.

I heared Arturia is making authetic................ GUI but beside that they are not in the same dimention they model synth after. So becase of that i do not want to touch Arturia because it might be that in real world the real synth will sound diferently with the same sethings on Arturia GUI.rod_zero wrote:Well Modular synthetizers are not easy to use.chilly7 wrote:I have a demo version of Ace. At what synth Ace was inspired or moddeled after?Urs wrote:I don't have a Moog 55. Can't compare.
P.s. I compared my Synth Squade Cypher which i own with basic Saw Toth with fully oppen filter and polihonic mode and some longer attack and longer relise with the same thetings to demo version of Ace and both sound totaly diferent. Ofcause it is impossible to discribe the sound by English words but Ace sound more agressive and Cypher sound more mild and more tragic.
I think both have use in sutern contexts.

Well the real point of trying Moog modular V is to compare the functionality of a Moog Modular to ACE, not so much because of the sound.chilly7 wrote:

Moog modular V is a full modular, ACE has a fixed architechture than is overcomed as you use it's modular conections.

ACE vs a Moog modular? Are you seriously gonna compare these?
That like comparing a korg volca with an Elektron Analog four. And that analogy wouldn't even work considering that ACE is software..

Bazille is more like a Moog modular or a "normal" modular. ACE is modular of course but its more like going in steps from a fixed architecture to a full modular aproach. The others are modulars right off the bat.

Well, I have a bunch of System 55s. I bought one for each room in my house, as they're somewhat difficult to move around and you never know when or where inspiration will hit. Not bathrooms though, I was worried about the effect of moisture and caustic gases on the componants.
Now, this is where ACE shines. On a laptop it's easy to move around and the more affordable price of modern computers and software make it a much better choice if you may want to fiddle with knobs while pooping. Of course, the sound is a bit more aggressive and less tragic, but I feel it's actually a benefit in the bathroom (WC to my friends across the pond) to get things going.
