Unable to Record VST Instruments

Hi,
I am running Traction 5 on my Mac and I cannot get the Traction inputs to recognize my VST Instruments. When I play the VST instruments I can see the Mains and the Track meters moving with the sound. However, the input meters will not move at all. Then, if I hit record, Traction will create a wave, but it has no sound and there is an error message that says "the track contains wave clips which may be inaudible as the audio will be blocked by one of the track's filters".

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Sounds like you have the wrong inputs on the track if audio clips are being recorded.

you don't get the sound of a vst instrument on the same tracks input.
it outputs on that track!
you can route it to another track and then record it there.

or you record your performance as midifile on that track (choose the appropriate midi-input) and then render the track later.

Tracktion is very literal about showing you its 'order' of things on a track : inputs-> the track contents -> plugins -> output. Since VST instruments are plugins and thus exist after the inputs, an instrument cannot be recorded on that track.
Generally, on a track with a VST instrument on it, the track contents would normally be expected to be the MIDI that the instrument responds to.

The solution, as already given above, is to create a separate track for the audio recording, and set its input to come from the track containing the instrument.
