Which version of ValhallaRoom? The latest version (1.1.1) was built with the Juce 3.0.5 framework, which might be useful information to the Tracktion folks.bobmartinmusic wrote:Valhalla crashes on resize, T5.

I would like to add a few comments. I have Valhalla Vintage Verb and I'm on T6. It seems to work fine on my PC, no problems re-sizing, no crashes.
On my Mac the first try let me re-size it, but it kept a black square around it that was the original size. Every subsequent try crashed Tracktion.
Here's my input: This seems like exactly the same problem I have with my IK plugins as documented in a previous thread. Works on PC, not Mac and sometimes works the very first time, but instantly crashes Tracktion after that.
So are you guys on a Mac?

Yes it's only happening on Mac, and only with the VST2 versions, so for now use the AU and it should be OK.

The only difference between the VST 2.4 and AU plugins from Valhalla is the target I am compiling to. It's definitely just the VST2 crashing though, same with the GRM Tools plugins. Helps narrow it down.

OS X 10.10.2 64-bit
Today, I updated to Valhalla Room to 1.1.1.
The VST version works fine.
The AU version shows up with a blank UI containing only a close(X) and pushpin. It has no effect on the sound.
Update: Now I realize this is a Tracktion 5 thread, so this might not be relevant.

No it's a problem in T6 too, for me at least. Weird, 1.1.1 VST = instant crash when I try to resize, AU 1.1.1 resizes and works fine. What are the other variables? I am on Mavericks, 64 bit.gigazaga wrote:Tracktion 6 6.0.23 64-bit

I've just contacted Sean at Valhalla, and he told me that it's a fault with juce 3.0.5 at Tracktions end, and to use the AU version.

Update: It does indeed crash on restart. The AU issue cleared after a restart.

Good now we're getting somewhere. Note this is not just a problem with Valhalla VSTs but also many other VSTs that use this version of JUCE. I see the same with VintageVerb. The black box of the original shape of the UI window. I am not getting the crash however. Also ValhallaFreqEcho VST crashes on resize in the same way as Room.
