Hey guys
I'm not sure if what is going on here is thought out right or whether its me who's not grasping the concept?
In the Song window there are options for Files, Presets, Tracks and then a Search button.
Why are the presets presented as buttons but the option to choose whether the search is for Loops, Presets or Plugins on a menu?
I clear the search box so it shows everything and select maybe 10 samples all different kicks
I right click to set the tag and write Kicks in the box and Ok it.
It only marks one file as a kick and ignores the others. Multiple tagging worked in older versions.
Also the type of sound tag is all mixed in with the vst tags.
If there was a button to select only loops and then only loop tags were presented or pressing a Preset or plugin button instead of accessing a drop down menu so only those tags were shown it would make the tag box a lot less cluttered.
Using the drop down menu it closes after you've clicked on your choice meaning you have to open it again to make your next choice.
On the Settings tab there is a user loops library path. In all the years of using Tracktion I've never found anything in there. Can someone explain it's purpose?

I agree, for me it would make more sense for these filters to appear as buttons. It might make even more sense to just create separate tabs for plugin and loops. There is already one for Presets. 90% of the time I use search for plugins.Dave Wiz wrote: In the Song window there are options for Files, Presets, Tracks and then a Search button.

That's sounds like a bug.Dave Wiz wrote: I clear the search box so it shows everything and select maybe 10 samples all different kicks

I agree with all of this. The tags field would be much more useful if it were filtered by the selection of plugins, presets, loops.Dave Wiz wrote: Also the type of sound tag is all mixed in with the vst tags.

The idea with that is you put the folders of your loop libraries in there the click Scan for loops. That indexes all the loops and that is what the search tab uses when looking for loops.Dave Wiz wrote: On the Settings tab there is a user loops library path. Oh right. I assume that's if you import instead of adding a path?
I've not imported because then you end up with duplicates of your existing folders.

You scan with the "Add path" option. If you don't scan they won't show up in the search.
I would never select import because you are right, the get duplicated.
I don't usually find my loop files this way anyway. I add bookmarks on Files tab of the browser. I know how they are organized by folder
