TB is great for solos, but never seems to work as a brass section.

Any thoughts on this, or has TB now reached the end of its development life?

absolutely no, it's under major upgrade,
a big part of the code is being rewritten right now,

what's the main problem with section?

luisi .. great to hear it's under major upgrade. If it costs a bit more I don't mind paying a bit more as TS is a little gem of a plug.

I find it great for solos, but when I combine them for a sax section, it never seems to have that sharp bite that I hear in a sax section emphasising corners and riffs.

This may well be me not using it properly, so any advice is welcome.

trumpets above saxes (on the scale) for a sharper sound, and saxes over trumpets for a mellower sound

trombones go in the middle or bottom, I guess

[edit] sorry, I was thinking "brass section" instead of "sax section"

I think you can do well small sax sections with LeSax, like 2 or 3 saxes ensemble,
for larger section
real section samples should do better, since stacking
solo samples would not give the feel of a real section, a bit like single string samples don't give
you the sound of a guitar chords,
the "fusion" of harmonics is different,
maybe that's the problem, just with carefully programmed external reverb you can emulate it perhaps,

for that reason I would add to LeSax SoundSets which already feature some intruments toghether,
like alto+baritone in octave interval,
this should help in making better section sound

I assume that you are hand tweaking each instance of Tubi, to get a slightly different sound from each instance, and to maximize whatever tonal properties you want to achieve? You might also want to rely on an exernal reverb such as SIR or Pristine Space, (if you are even using reverb), and use an impulse file that offers a reverb sound with a bit more clarity than what Tubi offers. It's hard to give precise advice, because I'm not totally sure that I know the exact effect you want to achieve. Describing sounds with words can be so awkward sometimes.

The only other thing about Tubile Sax is the name.

It sounds like a piece of medical equipment

The name doesn't do justice to the sound.

BTW it's Tubi LeSax,
in english would be Tubes The Sax

Le Sax is cool, but the Tubi bit is not nice English.

It's the sort of "tube" denotation that can also apply to worms and similar creatures. In a general sense, Tubi has no cool or musical connotations.

Dash Sax is okay.
