FR.
I rencently discovered Mutools and I use it in my classes. I like it very much. But we are composing in jazz style and we need to quantize 8th notes (MIDI) to swing. I need to know if you plan to add the option QUANTIZE IN PERCENT. This feature is essencial for us to continue using Mutools. I congratulate you for this great program. Thanks!

I guess he meant an 8th note swing setting, which is kinda typical in jazz and ragtime.
Kinda like the 16th note swing setting, which is the only "swing-able" sub division right now.

Oh, a swinged 8th, that's new to me. So i searched for it on the net and found it's about a playing the first and third times of a triplet. So use a 1/12th grid and use the first and third times of that grid. I practically checked it with the examples i heared and yes that's it.

Of course it would be incredibly beautiful to have a custom swing scheme possibility.
But I'm honestly curious, as to whether he did mean a custom percentage on the quantization aside from explaining his swing situation.
I'm super happy about the new 50% option, though, definitely a good leap forwards!

Play with swing is not to play the first and the third notes of the 12th grid. This would be a very poor swing.
In jazz, the swing is VARIABLE according the song, tempo, style, period, etc. Every second 8th note is located somewhere between the half of the beat and the third note of the triplet.
For those who work in jazz, the QUANTIZE IN PERCENT is an absolute essential feature. Don't close the doors to us!

(Excuse my bad English)
Thanks!

Uh, I would love to get a little example MuProject of yours just for a few bars. I'm sure it would be good to get the idea. Just turn the snapping off to freely move the notes in question. It would most certainly clarify things a bit more.
Great topic, I think!
