Back in Time soundsets?

Whatever happened to the new soundsets that Klaus P. Rausch was teasing us with a while back? The list of instruments was long and lust-inducing. Is this just vaporware, or should I reserve some space on my hard drive?

That is very good news. EVE is already my favorite VSTi, but with these instruments the distance between it and the others will just grow wider!

I am sure there are others who look forward to these soundsets. Please keep us posted.

Liqih, a few weeks back I asked WilliamK about moving Dashsnd files around and sorting them in our own folders. I understand this would make preset reading slower, and is therefore not a very viable option. Sounds reasonable to me.

However, is it possibe that the new BITR samples could, where appropriate, use folders already there, based on the original folders that come with EVE, instead of a new one for every soundset??

this weekend I implemented in EVE the possibility
to choose where the EVE Data folder is located,

still you can't spread the soundsets sub folders
everywhere but you can put the whole EVE Data folder
where you want, I hope this helps

if we want that it's possible, <grin>

it's just matter to chose that before making presets,

there are 3 possibilities as I see:

1) deliver the SoundSets (.DASHsnd)
as spare files with no presets (.fxb, .fxp)

you put them where you want and then you make your own presets, drawback is that it would be hard to exchange presets among users.

2) the installer copy the new SoundSets in the Deafult sub folders, so you'll have longer sub menus
but no new Category like A0S.

3) keep the old system, a new sub folder for each new Volume of SoundSets.

let me know what you users like the best since this is something to know now

Yes, it´s true that we´re slow in Sample Development sometimes and thank you all for the patience. Actually we aren´t really slow, but we´re involved in several sample development projects with various companies simultaneously.

The mentioned Keyboard, Ensemble and Synth add-on sample sets are already done and I guess Luigi will organize the preset making very soon.

Obviously, I think option (2) sounds best, so I could, for instance, scroll through all my electric piano samples in one convenient location, same for 'ensembles', or 'waveforms', or a new one called 'synth', and still use the presets. However, option (3) would continue in the same vein as is happening with the FK series, and I can certainly live with this !

Option (1) is a big no no- the presets are a GREAT bonus to EVE.

It doesn't really seem to bother anyone else though , so maybe it is better to continue with (3) anyway.

Just one thing to remember, the VST GUI library Menu system has a limit of entries. If you go above this limit, it will show as one row, and not using the multiple-row feature, hard to select, a pain to select to be more exactly. The limit will depend on the user resolution. Here in my machine, 1024x768, is around 100 menu-options.

I prefer this, its makes it easier to keep track of things. Or completely arbitrary subfolders...
