Hi Vojtech,

I did not know that you have a forum on KVR - a great thing! (shame on me that I did not know it!)

I am really impressed what you can do with MPowerSynth already. Nevertheless I came to one point I wanted to link the velocity of the MIDI input to maybe the ADSR curve. Is it somehow possible already and I missed something or would it be a good idea to have a new type of modulator? Now you have "normal, envelope and random". So maybe something like "velocity" would be nice. Or maybe even more logical: some velocity link option in the "envelope" section so that you can have the midi-velocity control the maximum valur of the envelop or something like this. What do you think?

Thanks for your reply and have a great day. :)

best,
Manuel

Hi Manuel, you can select "Velocity On" in the MIDI-settings (bottom right) to control whatever you want.

When clicking on the "Controller" drop-down you'll find it as the last entry.

Wow! I did not know that feature. Thanks for this already. Unfortunately this seems just to control the MultiParameter itself. Therefor some latency occurs so that the value is just not right in time.

Example: I link MultiParameter1 with velocity. MultiParameter1 will controll the global release. If I press a note with a certain velocity it plays the sound with the release value which was set up before.

It does look logical, but: is there a way to make the velocity act in realtime? Or is it not possible? At least the filter velocity link work in realtime though! Is this another situation why it is possible there?

Why do you go the "extra" route anyway? You can directly hook velocity to release. Just try this and check if there still is this sort of latency (which shouldn't occur imho but for now let's focus on the suggested linking).

Thanks for this tip as well. Unfortunately there is still the "lag" issue.

If I play a soft note, the release should immediately be short and on high velocity immediately (for this actual played note) long. I am wondering if there might be a technical limit, why this is not possible. Hmm ...

What skin is that?

Yep, tried it myself now.

The velo-driven release takes place on the next note, not the actual one. Checked with attack, too, and there's the problem either. Interesting finding. :tu:

@aMUSEd

It's Aluminion (factory skin).

Thanks - different colour scheme though?

It's this col-scheme (see the blue box around the colorstripe):

Ah that's much better, didn't like it at first with the brown everywhere. That one's a perfect match for my Tracktion colour scheme too.

I'll check it out!

While we're at it: there's a minor bug in the "Harmony" window (--> Advanced Settings).

Switching the presets with the arrow icons does not load a preset. It only changes the displayed name. Once you click on the name the preset is eventually loaded.

Hmmm, I'll check that too!

This is still happening with the envelopes in the Mods, but the per voice envelopes (filter and vol etc) are responding fine. Is it not possible with the Mod envelopes because they are not per voice?
