Not so happy with new design update of site

Any problems with the site? How can we improve KVR?

I don' quite like the new design of the site. It takes up to much space at the top. Maybe it is because I use adblocker, but the row holding the KVR title, is only that and the rest grey empty.

I would prefer to put the KVR logo at the top left corner, and then removing the middle row, so that it would become just two rows:

This would bring the content of the site up and more accessible. Maybe this is not such a big deal when you are using a 24" screen, but when surfing on a 10,1" laptop it makes a difference

Looks crap on my phone, a pain to find stuff....

Post

the site is really TERRIBLE with blackberry...terrible to load and terrible to use.

Post

i hate it. but the truth is, if this was the site you first saw when you registered here, you would have no issue. change is hard.

Post

I'd also rather blame it on the change. Looks and handles ok here on phone and computer.

Yeah, it is losing about a third of the top page...
But, gotta pay those bills somehow!

What I dont like, but is not new, is the 'KVR Industry Focus & Interviews'.
I get sick of those same faces staring into my soul.

Chuck Surack, get that mustache outta here...
Andrew Souter, hey man, lighten up.
Ingrid Linn, what are you so happy about?

Well I like it. Looks tidier with my profile area in the top left. Feels like its been cleaned up and refined.

Thats my bookmark, its the only page i go to.... the new icons mean nothing, its a really shit update to navigate.

Another thing, maybe I missed the "What is KVR?" option before, it is much more prominent now:http://www.kvraudio.com/developer/kvr-audio

KVR Audio is the Internet's number one news and information resource for open standard audio plug-ins.

That is of course nice, but where are the numbers/references/alexa rank to back up such a claim?

When I go to Wikipedia and search for KVR, all I get is a blank page

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KVR_Audio

Kind of weird that the internets no 1 news site for audio plugs is not detailed on Wikipedia.

This is how a big site devoted to news and reviews about games is detailed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ign

All I had to do before is open KVR and look to the right side of the page, "am I logged in", messages, currents posts... all information right there in one place. Now it's spread all over the page, terrible. Never mind change, as long as it's for the better.
But what can you do. Someone decided it needs to be this way, so this is the way it stays.

With all the social media links, I almost missed seing that there is a SKVRAudio link.

So who answers the phone if a user calls KVR via Skype?

Seriously, you can get pretty quick rid of those faces. If your browser have the Adblock plus add-on installed simply chose "block element" and click on a photo. Repeat for every picture. Next time you load the site they are gone.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.
