Midi out to light the buttons witch pressed or active (Steinberg CMC)

I program for my Steinberg CMC Controllers the controller script, but have no idea how to tell the controller to switch the light on or off.

The controller buttons of Steinbergt CMC have all background light, so it is possible to switch the light on if the button is active like play, stop, record and so on.

Did anyone know how to send a message to the controller (an of couse other controller than Steinberg CMC too) to switch light on and off?
