I sometimes use cubase elements on my entertainment pc to just play with some music, there I have no master keyboard and I do everything with my computer keyboard, it means that I write automation using the plugin's interface.

I noticed that the modwheel and pitch bender of this version of hive doesn't write automation of its sources to cubase (even when you activate the write button). All other stuff seems to work though. I had to draw the animations manually.

Correct, they are not automatable controls, they're there just for testing purposes mostly.

ah so it's intentional. I actually never bothered to test this with other instruments like lush-101 or basicly any software synth that has a visual keyboard and controls... I can kinda understand that the source automation has to come from the source itself, yet when you're just making music on a computer without any gear attached it would be convenient, :) Mostly its no issue because I DO have controllers on the "pro music" pc :)

I'm going by memory here, but I think I'm correct. Using CubaseLE4 and Mac OSX10.6.8, I can "paint in" (with virtual paint brush, though I think there are other ways to do it) modwheel & pitch bender movements for automation in the Cubase sequencer after I have recorded notes in the sequencer. Now that I read your post again, it sounds like you're already doing that.

yep, I started doing that as an alternative to being able to use the modwheel on the virtual keyboard of hive itself, so it's OK, Just was wondering if it was intentional at this point :)

I haven't checked that lately, but yeah, I seem to remember I couldn't get it to otherwise record modwheel and pitch wheel movements, which I wondered if that was a bug, or not working yet, or ???

It's not a bug, see above. You are supposed to use the actual wheels/joystick on your MIDI controller. Or draw in events in piano roll.
