Wow, that freaked me out. Suddenly the midi keyboard would be off by one octave and I was afraid it was a MULAB>KONTAKT issue.
...but my CAT walked over my keyboard and hit the octave shift button.
Never mind...thanks for the Middle C default tip, though!

I never allow my cat to walk on my keyboard.
And he never does!
He has learned that he can get far more attention by walking behind my setup with his tail held high, gracefully hooking the cables and pulling them out behind him.

I'm grateful, though, for the many times they've unplugged my phone, hahaha!

OK, this has nothing to do with MuLab, but I have to tell this to somebody, who might feel my pain...
My cat jumped into my usb cable, that connects my asshole masterkey board to my Cintiq, tossing the Cintiq to the floor- which survived it without any troubles- but also janking that cable out of the keyboard, ripping the socket on the Akai to shreds... SO, now I'm AGAIN without keyboard, because there's no way I can fix this.
Fate is screaming at me to drop music again, I think, I have no other explanation, haha... my god.
Ah well... Watch your cat, as the topic says!

I think the cats are just jealous of your Cintiq and Akai

If this thing survives a good throw, it'll actually come in quite handy!

That's rough -- most USB sockets on keyboards are tough but tend to let the cable fall out (opposite of what I've found with MIDI sockets). If it didn't damage the PCB inside, there's a chance of repair. Otherwise, you'll need the PCB replaced (which may or may not be too hard but likely to be pricier).Taron wrote:but also janking that cable out of the keyboard, ripping the socket on the Akai to shreds...

Naha, oh my god, this shitty socket was so flimsy, it ripped one side, apparently not damaging the board, if that's what you mean. I do not know how much force I ...hmm...maybe with a proper soldering iron I could detach the wreckage of the socket without any force, I hope. That's the tough part, it's impossible to really see underneath it properly.
If the board was broken, I might as well send the whole keyboard to- uhm- Germany, I guess. It most certainly is still under warranty, since I just got it a few months ago, or has it been a few weeks, I don't even know... the heat is frying my brains, haha.
Well, yeah, as much as it pains me to say this, but Akai is really a brand I will avoid entirely from now on...so much wrong with this thing, especially for the price. But that was the last straw, I think. The only ridiculous upside might be that it is easier to open than I was afraid it might be.
If only Korg had an available masterkeyboard for me... those guys I totally trust! 26 freaking years and a dead battery, but this M1 didn't want to die and even now I think I might be able to repair what's wrong. But it never had any hardware defect what so ever. Akai...about 2 months.
UH, thanks, by the way, I really appreciate your thoughtful compassion!

Here exactly the same, I am still using it as my midi keyboard! Only the C4 is getting a bit "deaf".Taron wrote: 26 freaking years and a dead battery, but this M1 didn't want to die

Haha, no reference to the thread's origin, right?
Yeah, man, it's funny how I thought over the years there must be a better keyboard and I probably will dislike my M1, once I played on a different one, but...NOPE...this thing is totally virtuoso-friendly!
...I only wished it had 88 keys.
