At the moment, we select the parameters from the browser list in the "Select parameter" window. As in:

How about dragging the desired parameter from the main GUI and dropping it into the parameter list? As in this mock-up:

Or even dragging the desired parameter from the main GUI and dropping it onto the Multiparameter button (then opening it to Edit the details). As in this mock-up:

There already is a 'learn' system. Click the button next to the parameter:

Exactly! Learning is waaaaaaay better than that and you can use it on pretty much any parameter (which may not have a label for example) ;)
