Hi,

is it possible to add volume faders for individual channels L and R to MUtility? So that I can control pan position and volume for each channel individually. Then it could be used as a true dual panner. That is one of the few things I cannot do with Melda right now and I'm using another plug for that.

Cheers, Thorsten

Doesn't it have panorama? I'm not in the studio right now but I know there is already a way to do this on that plug.

there is the panorama control, but that's not the same. you can't for example eliminate one channel

Errr, yeah, turning it fully left removes the right channel and vice versa. Unless you're talking about surround, in which case, yes you're right, it has no surround channel control.

Of course you can do that, but that's basically muting by means of panning. You can't control vol and pan individually for each channel. What I mean is mute the left channel and pan the right channel to the center. You can't do that with MUtility.

Ah yes, sorry I misunderstood. Yeah you're right and that would be an appropriate feature for mutility. I think currently you'd have to do that in mxxx.

Actually I just tried, the panorama control works a little unexpectedly, it does NOT kill the left channel if you move it all to the right. No matter what you do with the panorama controllers, you always got the sound of both channels. So basically panorama does the same like panorama left / panorama right. This must be a bug.

Hmmm, I tried the panorama control and it seems working just fine. But note that it mixes both channels - basically if it is in center, nothing is done. If it is "to the right", the left channel signal is "moved" from left to right. So no, you cannot current control each channel's volume. But I think there's room for another free plugin(s) - channel matrix and/or channel volume (from MXXX).

Thats what I mean, the stereo pan control keeps both channels (without applying pan law?), so it does the same as the individual channel panners, its redundant functionality. And if you use both it gets a little confusing.

That sounds like an excellent idea :-)

Well, it does not do the same job as the panorama for separate channels keeps the other one intact, but to be honest, I never use the channel panorama, it seems pointless to me as well, just some people asked for it so...

MChannelMatrix it is ;).
