How about a different view option in the Equalizers - with the Equalizer graph panel collapsed? - Ideal for those who mix with their ears not their eyes ;)

Below is a current view and a mock-up:

Any interest?

You can see the Collapse / Expand bars to the right of the EQ graph / above the EQ bands panel.

And that's a modified Futuristic style with my own colour palette.

Some people (not me) are much more used to setting controls (as in the Bands panel) and listening rather than watching the pictures.

Just an idea. And none of the other 49 viewers have expressed any interest, so not to worry.

Hehe you know, collapsible analyzer view wouldn't be such a big deal, but I don't think many people would use it. The visual feedback is just too good ;).

I have noticed one thing with myself - I prefer a EQ that only has numbers and knobs i just seem to work better this way. It would seem that with a visual Eq i get caught up with how it should look and now how it sounds and as everyone will tell you its not what the Eq looks like, no tracks Eq is set in stone.

I'd use it but it would have to be knobs, not value boxes. I like EQs that have knobs and no graphs when I want to adjust more with my ears. sometimes you need a graph and FFT underlay to do certain kinds of work. EQs with less bands and wider scope per band usually don't need a graph however I do find when they do provide them, they are useful as a visual check or just to see what visually you are working with. RS56 and Hoser XT come to mind here. I don't think its an if/then - the different UI approaches are useful for different kinds of EQing techniques. some EQs are so about the visualization that having knobs only wouldn't make sense, such as Pro-Q2. so again its not a one-size-fits-all deal - but I could see Melda's EQs offering a knobs only view - the Melda EQs are right in the middle in terms of those that benefit from one approach to the other. so in short, yes, would be good.
