Melda Plugins - Not receiving MIDI control

Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help with this...
I'm attempting to control Melda Production plugin (v9) parameters via a Kenton Killa Mix MIDI controller in Wavelab 8.5 (PC).
I've recently purchased the Kenton controller, its recognized in Wavelab and I can perform MIDI control over the stock Wavelab VST 3 plugins via the round circle icon towards the top right of the plugin window.
The Melda Plugins don't have this round circle icon (Labelled as ? control) in the frame of the plugin window.
Now, I have tried to get the Kenton unit setup via the Melda 'MIDI' setttings, enabled the MIDI Controller tab, selected a parameter from one of the plugins e.g. gain on 2nd band of EQ and pressed MIDI Learn, but nothing happens, even when set to MIDI Channel: All
I have tried updating the plugins, reinstalling them as VST 3 plugins...
I am considering sending back the Kenton controller, as I am unsure where the problem lies?
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers

Could it be that the Kenton is sending incremental MIDI messages rather than absolute value CC messages? MeldaProduction plug-ins use absolute value MIDI CC messages, I believe.
Add a MIDI Monitor into Wavelab and see exactly what MIDI messages it is receiving.

Thanks DarkStar,
I'll be sure to look at this when I get home.
From reading the Kenton manual the controller can indeed be set to switch between sending absolute/incremental values.
Fingers crossed.
Thanks again for the suggestion, will let you know how I get on.
Cheers

If nothing happens, then you most likely don't have it mapped at all. I don't even know how to map something in Wavelab, didn't know that Wavelab can route MIDI. Anyway if it would be a controller, then please create a small project with recorded MIDI from your controller in some host (e.g. Reaper or Cubase) and send it to info@meldaproduction.com.

I used an application called MIDI-OX to check what MIDI messages were being sent from the Kenton controller and the screenshot attached ('MIDI 2') show CC messages transmitted.
I've also included a screenshot ('Wavelab 1') to show how stock Wavelab plugins are setup to be controlled via MIDI control (Just click the 'Circle Icon' near the top right - labelled as 'MIDI Control' & move your desired MIDI control knob and its mapped).
The Melda Production plugins (also VST3) do not have this circular icon near the top right of the plugin window, but does have a 'MIDI' button which takes you to MIDI settings (see screenshot 'Wavelab 2') & as far as i can tell I'm doing everything right?
I'm aware you can't create MIDI tracks like Cubase etc, but the MIDI mapping works for the Wavelab stock plugins, so must be possible?

Well, there's a direct possibility, that only stock plugins receive MIDI... I wouldn't be surprised, Wavelab was always problematic... Could you try a different host? (say Reaper is small)

Vojtech could be onto something.
The 'Stock plug-in' set-up is using Wavelab's MIDI Learn feature and the MEqualizerLinearPhase set-up is using the MIDI control assignment feature built in to the FX.
So if the MIDI CC messages are not getting to the FX (And are routed by WaveLab to its automation functions) then that feature in the FX cannot be used.
Now, "Equalizer Band 5 - Gain" is exposed by the FX as a VST parameter so it should be possible to automate that using the WaveLab MIDI Learn feature. Give that a go.
(Disclaimer: I've never used WaveLab, just looked at the User Manual

Thanks for the replies...
I've not tried it another application, but will this evening to rule out if its a host or plugin issue.
Wavelab unfortunately doesn't feature plugin automation.... hmmm, i've tried posting on Wavelab's forum, so will see what they say.
Cheers for now!

Plug-in automation is what you're doing in the stock plug-in set-up, isn't it?user manual, p22 wrote:You can assign custom parameters to many VST 3 plug-ins.

You can map a VST 3 plugin parameter to an external MIDI controller for hands on control (which is just what I trying to do with the Melda Plugins), but not record the MIDI data / or write parameter changes via an automation lane as you do in Logic / Cubase etc

Understood - my apologies for the confusion.
Anyway, as far as I can see, you should be able to use the method that you used for the stock plug-in, for the MeldaProduction plug-in too. That should connect the Kenton's knob/slider to the plug-in's parameter.

Unfortunately the Melda plugins don't display the circular symbol option (MIDI Control) near the top right plugin window frame?

I thought that that symbol (and the others on that bar) were part of the WaveLab plug-in wrapper?
Is there anything above the bar that has the list of plug-ins in the chain?
If not it would be worth asking on the Wavelab forum how third-party plug-ins can be controlled.

Edit: Ah, I see that you already have
Without any response.
Hopeless.
