Could we have a rule against that? It's annoying, attention whoring, and everyone can operate the caps lock key. Actually most of the people who got informed that it's bad style to write in caps the whole time were even able to write totally normal after doing so. :)

Post

one could probably come up with a script that measured percentage of caps in a message, and blocked it (like we do with links from new members).
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Would be cool, although i don't know how annoying it is for others. For me, the most annoying part is the attitude to try to push the posts, or topics with capitals, so that it stands out, and capitals are also often considered as SHOUTING!!! I wouldn't know why it would be necessary to shout the whole time in conversations. :)

I'd like to have topic titles like "This plugin is awesome" or "Approach" (just randomly chosen) banned as well. It's annoying, attention whoring, and everyone should have the time to formulate an exact topic theme.

Not necessarily. But i believe that everyone can operate the caps button if he wants to. Actually on most forums, it's a no-go to use caps. And my personal impression when i read a topic title or contents written in caps is "Spam".

Post

Right, I was kidding (a bit) - using caps isn't really necessary, most people should know that.

excessive use of the ellipsis should also be banned ...

Can't have rules about all kinds of nuisances, this thing can self-regulate it self.

All cap lock topic thread and text makes it also easier spotting phonies. I mean who would write just with cap locks, without there being something fishy somewhere, the user being a few sandwiches short of the full lunchbox and that kind of thing :D

I thought there already was? I recall trying to post a thread title that was all caps because what I was referring to was in named in caps and it wouldn't let me.

I wish posts in capital letters was high on my list of concerns.
