I'll be waiting for a bit since I have some NI gear.

I received an email from Native Instruments.. but i'm not sure if this just means the Audio Unit versions. Doesn't mention the VST versions..

"Before upgrading to the latest version of Mac OS X – version 10.11 El Capitan, please consider these potentially serious issues concerning your KOMPLETE, TRAKTOR, and MASCHINE products. Two major issues have been identified:

1. NI plug-ins do not pass the AUDIO UNITS validation in Mac OS X 10.11 – Logic Pro affected
In Mac OS X 10.11, Native Instruments AUDIO UNITS plug-ins will not pass the AU validation and will therefore not be available in Logic Pro. The root cause of this issue has been identified and a solution is currently being developed in close contact with Apple.

2. Incompatibility with some older NI hardware
There are compatibility issues between some older NI devices and Apple’s upcoming operating system. This issue triggers a 'kernel panic' – this serious problem will crash the connected computer immediately, resulting in loss of any unsaved work, or serious disruption of a performance.

The following hardware is affected:
TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 (MK1)
TRAKTOR KONTROL X1 (MK1)
TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 (MK1)
AUDIO 8 DJ
AUDIO 4 DJ
AUDIO 2 DJ
MASCHINE (MK1)
GUITAR RIG 3 (RIG KONTROL 3 hardware)""

I'd wait, it breaks a lot - in general.
In Bitwig Studio it seems there's a problem with 32bit plugins and the app only starts once, after that you have to reboot.
We will look in to that next...

I wouldn't update any audio machine... too many reports of issues with audio software.

Welp, I couldn't resist. I can confirm that Bitwig only runs once. Guess I'll just be playing a lot of guitar for a while.

I have a lot of crackles now with my audio interface (TASCAM US-322, not Bitwig related) since the update. Either TASCAM has to come up with a driver update (which I doubt they ever will) or Apple has to rework their Audio Integration (might also never happen) or I need a new interface.

confirm of starting once. you only have to logout and login to start studio again
long booting 30s 5 s for Bitwig is launched and the program frame appears on the MAC until GUI is visible 20 s more.
more crashes of audio engine directly after launch
less contrast of the GUI (subjective) there seems to be a bit fog laying over the GUI.

Melodyne vst not working in Studio but in other DAW's

Thanks, logging out does work. Load time seems normal here.

Regarding the contrast, is that 1.2 and not el capitan? I didn't notice a change in Bitwig's colors going from yosemite to el cap, but the 1.2 gui does appear to me to have less contrast in some places than 1.1.11.

Hi yes i don't think too it is not (only?) ElCapitan. But there was a significant more fog between the last beta and the final of studio. I thought it was ElCapitan because I am since 4 month on the betas of ElCapitan and I thought this was related to a Java Problem or a color calibrating of Studio.

Logic and StudioOne do show no difference on ElCapitan

For anyone that is on El Capitan, you can launch BWS via the terminal and entering:
"/Applications/Bitwig\ Studio.app/Contents/MacOS/BitwigStudio" (without quotes)

Ozone 6 seems to be a bit laggy in BWS on El Capitan, spikes DSP heavily.
But not sure which is to blame in that regard.

It seems that apple restricts the system more and more. Presonus sent me a mail with:

AudioBox 22VSL, 44VSL, 1818VSL:
Starting with OS X 10.11, Apple has restricted kernel level mixing access for third party vendors. This means that VSL software will no longer function on Mac operating systems beyond version 10.10. On OS X version 10.11 or higher, AudioBox VSL devices will only operate as class-complaint audio interfaces. Please refer to this article here that explains the issue in more detail and how to resolve it.
If you currently do not use VSL software, your AudioBox VSL interface will continue to function as you expect.

I don't know if that is a temporary limitation or final.

Super slow and can only open once per log. Other than that no problems.
