I have a new acoustic guitar, and I want to quantify the general frequency difference between the sound of the guitar through a nice mic and through it's internal pickup.
I was thinking of several ways of doing this - I thought I might use a rack filter, with mic signal and pickup signal as inputs, then use the 4 band eq and do a phase invert on the pickup signal, and then mix the two signals, and send the mix through to an FFT analyzer like SPAN.
But, it's been so long since I used racks, I can't figure out how to assign the input channels of the rack as audio tracks from Tracktion.
Anyone have a better idea of what to do for this?

two tracks, flip the phase on one (properties panel), span on master insert.

OK, I must be blind - I do not see the phase property when looking at either the track detail or the clip detail. Any help identifying where the phase flip is located?klangbastler wrote:how about that:

Actually, flipping the phase did not have the desired effect - I need to take phase out of the whole story by making an averaged frequency spectrum for each of the tracks, then do a subtraction in the frequency domain.
