Hi everyone,
Now that version 2.7 is out the door we have more time for R&D on improving our filter algorithms
We started out with the ladder filter and tried to get similar results compared to the subphatty that we have on board:
http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster/ ... Reso7A.wav
http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster/ ... Reso7B.wav
http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster/ ... Reso8A.wav
http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster/ ... Reso8B.wav
http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster/ ... Reso9A.wav
http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster/ ... Reso9B.wav
http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster/ ... eso10A.wav
http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster/ ... eso10B.wav
(This is still work in progress, we havent added system noise, resonance scaling, etc to the filter yet)
Hopefuly in December I'll sample an original "mini" model D in Istanbul, I'm really looking forward to modelling that filter as well
I also played with the TT303 that I got last year, and came up with this "acid" filter, still work in progress:
http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster/ ... sTest1.wav
Once I am done with the "acid" filter, I'll work on 12 dB LP/HP MS20 filters as well. I have samples from my MS20 mini and I think I finally figured how to achieve that original ms20 filter sound
For those of you who wonder, these filters do not use "zero delay" architecture yet. If I feel like it's really necessary and efficient, I'll use that

The standard analog filter uses 0df?
BTW, bring a Oberheim filter!

I guess you can say that yeah! I havent tried 0df yet, but I suspect that you can not freely introduce as many nonlinearities as you can in other methods. but let me reiterate, havent tried it yet, my opinion might change when I have time to test it outwaltercruz wrote:The standard analog filter uses 0df?

Hopefuly we'll release version 2.8 in January (NAMM show) before we dive into version 3.0
I'll also try to throw in a properly modelled ADSR analog envelope (by adding a "Type parameter for ADSR envelopes with initially 2 settings: Digital (existing SM envelope), Analog (modelled after subphatty envelopes))
(and for those of you who wonder 2.8 is a FREE upgrade for existing users)

Does this mean you'll actually be at NAMM in Jan., or is this timing just because it's "announcement season"?kv331 wrote:Hopefuly we'll release version 2.8 in January (NAMM show) before we dive into version 3.0

Yes we'll be at NAMM, here's our exact location, we're neighbours with Moog and DSIdmbaer wrote:Does this mean you'll actually be at NAMM in Jan., or is this timing just because it's "announcement season"?

Sounds great. The last update was really nice. I've been enjoying the new features and presets. I'm excited about 2.8.

Thanks a lot! But your filters we are using now are already very able to get that distorted ms20 sound

It might sound similar but that's not enough for us, ms20 has a distinct architecture/sound. We wanna get that soundThePresent wrote:Thanks a lot! But your filters we are using now are already very able to get that distorted ms20 sound

Talk about a gift that keeps on giving! I can't remember what I paid for Synthmaster... I think I was on the original group pre-buy or something... anyway, it was almost nothing. It's amazing to see a synth so actively developed. Thanks!
