... I mean SERIOUSLY!

Before I thought that simple sidechaining is just perfect, until I discovered this baby just a couple of days ago. Usually I am worse than McScrooge when it comes to 3rd party plugins, but this one was SUCH a no-brainer for me, especially since it also is provided as VST3 :D

Sidechaining now has reached a whole new level for me, also de-essing (tried it on female vocals) works SO much better than ANY plugin that I tried before. And these are just two purposes out of many more that this plugin is able to do - while we are basically talking about an Equalizer!

+1

One of my most used plugins when it comes to mixing. And it seriously beats all DeEssers out there that cost thrice as much.

I love this plugin too! But recently it is getting overtaken by MSpectralDynamics as most used/favorite plugin.

+1 (+1, + another 1) ... MAutoDynamicEQ finds a place on almost every track, and it performs wonderfully. It is my go-to for most eq tasks, far ahead of some rather more expensive purchases. My only gripe is - now that I can do all these cool things I had previously only dreamed about - I need to source a Mac Pro for more CPU. That is not a criticism or IMHO any problem with the plugin, just a simple acknowledgement that what I ask it to do consumes processing cycles. I am looking forward to getting MSpectralDynamics, because I know it is so much more efficient at some of the tasks I am demanding from the EQ. Kudos to MeldProduction for bringing such innovative and affordable products into the world!

Maybe I'm just a noob but I can't ever de-ess correctly when I use this haha. I use it for normal eq tasks though.

...start with one of the de'sser patches and go from there...it took me awhile to understand what was going on, this dynamic thing is "real" different...once you've got it, works like a champ...fixed an acoustic guitar sqeeeeeek that just killed the track.../s~

In my experience essess occur around 3khz to 8khz
Depending on male female etc.
Use a narrow Q at a high gain and sweep around until it sounds most harsh.
Then dynamically reduce that frequency until it's gone.
Beware that reducing too mush will sound like the singer has a lisp, in which case back off a little.

No, we have to thank YOU!

I am a coder myself, and what you have created with these extremely efficient plugins just YOURSELF is beyond my imagination.

Considering the value and the features for the price I know why I chose Melda instead of FabFilter when it comes to EQing (plus I just bought the FreeEffectsBundle because it is so versatile).

I never understood why fans of the Melda line loved the plugins so much - but now that I gained experience I perfectly understand and wish that a lot more people would do the same

+1 Yes, it's the best de-esser. Too bad it's more complex to operate than the space shuttle. :help: Nevertheless, I will buy it soon. :tu:

Happy holidays everyone :)

Edit: For clarity, this isnt a negative critique of Melda vst's. It was more a lighthearted self reflection.
