Hi everyone,
This last week I received a License from Swam and sample modeling for their new Viola virtual instrument to load on my receptor 2+ using OS 2.1 and controlled with an EWI 4000S wind controller.

The software installed without any incident flawlessly as did the offline authorization process. The sounds themselves are really good and highly expressive through the EWI. One adjustment that needs to be made for the EWI is to change the portamento button from velocity to CC otherwise legato playing is a little slidey between notes. There are tons of parameters to control aspects of the playing characteristics of the sounds. There are many min sound variations in stereo and mono, and Pizzacato and ColLengo variations of plucked or bow struck strings. I have barely scratched the surface on wht this will do but I am very impressed with it.

:hyper: :) :hihi:

I bought this after seeing your post and listening to the demos-it works amazingly with the tec control breath controller and a keyboard! I wasn't able to get the 64 bit version to validate on my Quattro, but the 32 bit version worked fine-did the 64 bit work for you? Amazing detail and expression with this instrument. I like the small ram footprint-it sounds like a fully sampled instrument, but I believe it is all modelling.

No, my receptor is a 2 Plus and still lives in the 32 bit realm. You might want to contact Sample modeling and let them know about that. They have been god about investigating issues like that and taking care of them.

Very cool!

I'm wondering when their violin will be out. I liked what they originally did for violin and cello years ago (under release from Garritan, I believe). As responsive as those instruments were, there was alot of noise, in comparison to the new Viola.

Lots of controls you can dial up or down. Things like rosin stickiness, String ambience and bow height are just a few.
