Hi,

I wasn't sure whether to post this question on the Tracktion forum, or the Behringer forum. But here goes. I have Tracktion 5, obtained in conjunction with a Behringer Xenyx 1204USB. I am using Windows 8.

I obtained ASIO4ALL and installed. Control panel says I am using USB audio codec for speakers and microphone.

Starting Tracktion, I created a new project.

Under settings: Audio device type is ASIO. Device is ASIO4ALL v2.

Input 1- Right click, I can choose Input 1 or Input 2. Audio Tracks lists tracks 2-8. Number of inputs, 1 each of tracks 1 and 2.

Test recording. I have my ipod plugged into channels 1 and 2 on the mixer. Play a track.

But Tracktion seems to be recording from the laptop's internal microphone.

I can't change the input source.

In Audacity, I fare a little differently. I choose the USB audio codec. It records the input from the mixer. Granted it's in mono- i am recording a stereo track, but the two channels are the same. 1 panned hard to the left. 2 to the right. But I digress.

Also if I press 2-TR/USB on the mixer, computer audio is now being routed to mixer (in stereo).

So.... the setup is kinda sorta working. But I can't get anything but the internal mic to recording to Tracktion. Weird because the windows system isn't even using it anymore.

Any ideas would be most welcome. Thanks!

First, the ASIO4ALL driver doesn't cut it for this model. After some investigating I found the correct 64-bit driver for windows 8, here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1x4g21ed44wuh ... 0.zip?dl=0 (https://www.dropbox.com/s/1x4g21ed44wuhke/BEHRINGER_2902_X64_2.8.40.zip?dl=0)

I can confirm that works for the X1204USB.

As for the mono vs stereo... heh... I was panning hard for the recording.... but not for playback. Oops.
