Or get a copy of Computer Music to try it...
I recently got a Beatstep and obnoxious little Neutron.. first thing I did was hook them up with the StiX...
lovely union .. played very well together ))))
The StiX is a bit more than just a drum machine... it is also one crazy little noise/sound machine...
after all the years just using the CM version this is very very tempting offer.
Yeah I had planned to use one of my Beatstep Pro's with StiX.. can you tell me if you can generate audio of each channel and export/drag the wave form in your DAW? Example would be Sonic Academy Kick where I make a nice Kick then generate and export it? That'd be a cool feature if StiX could do that.
Either way I like the sound and think I'll get it I'm just not on my mac right now I'm using my sisters nightmare windows laptop lol

Rob
oooerrr... sister's laptop... oooerrrr... what crap/sensitive stuff lies within. I would not even go near any of my ex_GF's or wives handbags >> utter fear of the unknown.

The CM is not multi channel.. I have just DL the ilok demo and will give it a try later... alternative would be to record it???
Lol no mate I meant I hate Windows machines, so crappy I'm no good with this I'm a Mac only type hehe.
I think at €99 this is a great price, I have an iLok too :tu:

I can now confirm that my issues with Drag and Drop are resolved.
I have been dealing with Xils support over the weekend and the latest version is working perfectly.
Thanks :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Drag and drop midi patterns you mean? I haven't got StiX yet but I asked a question earlier about audio. Can StiX generate audio for each synth drum part, sort of what Kick 2 can do, generate audio then drag & drop to a track? No big deal if it can't I was just wondering. I see StiX can import samples which is cool but I'd like to make and export my own synth drums as audio from the UI :tu:

I was talking about midi drag and drop, I don't think it does audio drag and drop unfortunately.

:o :o :o

Might try the demo tomorrow night when I'm home on the music computer. I'm a sucker for drum machines but the StiX demos sound great.

Rob
Thanks I edited the thread title to mention the version 1.5 promo offer on Xils site.

Yes with the Midi Out flow, wich compliments the Drag'N'drop pattern to daw, you can control in real time other software drum machines, but also hardware synths and DM, or blend them with StIX. CM version lacks the separate outputs version, sample import ability, all v1.5 features, Midi Out, and some other things, but considering it's magazineware and as such nearly free .... It's also a good opportunity to become familiar with StiX and it's fast workflow of course.

No it can't atm. Drum sounds created by StiX can overlap (still sound.. like a tom soundtriggered/located at the end of the bar will still sound at the beginning of the next bar, provided it's not muted by a choke function etc) across bars, or even more with big release and mods. So this kind of audio export would be difficult to handle in a smart way. But the idea could be studied for future versions.

Another way to handle this is to simply use the multi outputs version and record all sounds in your daw in separate tracks in one pass. (or a single sound even in the stereo version with the help of the mixer solo function)

Well I downloaded the trial licence to my iLok the other day and have been checking it out in Live and it seems to work ok however it's a no go in Logic. It's not even recognised in the plugin manager. I checked to see if StiX was blacklisted but it's not even in the list. Any ideas?

That's why it will be here in next version.

Sometimes you need to reboot once for the AU to show properly in Logic and in the system. That's what I'd try first. (There are already thousands of StiX users in Logic. While it is not a 101% guarantee, but shows the highest hopes you can have)

Yes it's there, it works, and you can even drag'n'drop Songs (patterns chains) to Daw.

It seems a reboot is needed for not only StiX but lots of other plugins I have been reinstalling on Mojave. All good and working well in Logic now.. very nice features, darl skin rocks. Try it out more today :tu:
