Punch in recording: audio jumps...

I tried yesterday to punch in on a track but everytime i entered recording the audio jumped a few frames, throwing off the artist.
It seems same on different machines with different interfaces?
ao: RME firefaces, Focusrurite, Lexicon?

Without proper punch in recording it will be hard to use it.
