Hi!

Is there an easy way scroll through Eve's presets once a bank is selected? Perhaps a hot key combination I am not aware of?

What I am thinking of in particular is something like with Pro-53, where if you set focus to the patch number display area, you can use the up and down arrows to scroll through the presets.

Thanks,

sorry no easy way so far, I could add aa link to open the preset menu with click instead of going thru the option menu,

anyway VST Hosts usually feature arrow buttons to go thru presets

Hi

Mentioned this before but - in Logic 5.5 pc if I use the Logic preset selector menu it tends to crash EVE.

Thats why i requested this feature be on the EVE GUI - any chance this might happen?

Flipper.

Hi! I did a bit of investigating.

First off, I was wrong when I said that PRO-53 provided preset scrolling capability VSTi. It appears that this is true only standalone, not VSTi. Some other VSTi's like Pentagon 1 do though. Pentagon 1 has arrows next to the preset display for up/down.

As far as I can tell, DirectiXer does provide preset scrolling capability like you describe, but Cakewalk's VST Adapter does not. A problem I see with DirectiXer, however, that limits its preset scrolling usability with Eve is that the list of presets shown does not get updated when I change banks in Eve. DirectiXer seems to continue to display the presets of the originally loaded bank no matter what. With Cakewalk's VST Adapter, once I click in the preset display area it correctly updates to the new banks list of presets.

I also tried Eve in Console Modular Studio. Like DirectiXer, the list of presets does not get updated when I change Eve banks within Eve.

I also tried Eve in V-Stack. In V-Stack, the list of presets DOES get updated, just like with Cakewalk's VST Adapter.

But back to the original query... I think that anything that makes it easier to scroll through Eve presets would be helpful.

Try it in Tobybear's Minihost. The preset scrolling in that is a revelation now. It can go up and down using midi control or arrow keys, has left/right arrows and a dropdown with all the presets clearly displayed and it updates when you change banks too. Also has a great preset manager and can even write banks from single presets. Minihost may still be a bit buggy but has the best preset browsing/management options I've seen in any host.

Plus it turns EVE into a virtual standalone.

thanks for your report bob,

about Midihost I just registered it with a donation,
it's really a usefull tool, I do think that hosts should do a good presets managment on their own
so that users has the same feature with all plugin,
anyway I may improve EVE menu too
