Searched the forum but could not find a reference to this. Apologies if it has been discussed previously.
Should assume that T6 can handle projects created in T2?
When I try to open a T2 project in T6 Tracktion hangs.
Is this a 'works as designed' behavior or does it sound unusual?

In my experience, projects are unfortunately not compatible between versions...

Edit: at least 4 and under. I believe 5-6 works, but its not bi-directional.
Once you open it in a newer version, you cannot go back... That's how it was
when I last tried it anyway...

The projects are indeed compatible - what is likely happening, is you have a T2 era 3rd party plugin that is crashing T6
Clear your plugin list in the settings tab - then open the sessions - you can add back the plugs systematically until you find the offending item
Sessions saved in T6 cannot be opened in previous versions - there are too many new features in T6 to support backward migration - all other versions are interchangeable
