Yeah, that's pretty good. It'll definitely stand out from the rest...

It might be nice to see more shapes in there. It's looking a little but plain, IMO. If you're looking for 60's inspiration (groovy!) check out the master of 60's concert posters website!

all i can see is the weird blobby green thing. what is that ? it should be away from the visual centre - maybe hard left or right.

also i think eve is famous as retro sound device, the ad colours and gentle movements make me think about some tropical ambience environmental thing...

i think the ad should be black and retro with a pan across the excellent gui. eve has one of the best guis in both visuals and functionality of any vsti imho.

or maybe a couple of different backgrounds as a visual clue to how the character of eve can change depending on the sounds set: nasty retro analog or excellent rhodes & 80s keys etc

in other words i think the ad in its present form fails...

I figured it was a fig leaf... perhaps it needs to be an apple instead?

But yes, while the colors would stand out from the other ads online, I'm not sure it carries the right message about what Eve is.

man i don't know why you don't make a new installer for EVE that also installs A0S and FK 1-4, burn that installer onto a cd, put that cd into a box with a printed manual, shrinkwrap the box, and get it on shelves with a big pricetag

i mean other than materials cost and distribution

but seriously, get it in a box in shops and you have SUCH a bigger market than if you focus on internet-based people only

I dont like it at all. Its too bright and clean and soft looking for EVE. I guess it stands out color wise but it doesnt show the true powerful sound of EvE. It doesnt really match it IMHO.

I liked it a lot once I sized it to the size of the larger KvR top banner (above).

Initially it displayed full screen for me, which was a bit much, especially for the leaf . But once I sized it down to the size of the large KvR top banner, I liked it a lot. I think that it is distinctive enough to get a click, which is the primary purpose of a good banner ad.... Get the person to click to find out more.

Hi Luigi,
Speaking in terms of branding, you should be sure to use the same defined set of colors, fonts and general design principles. In a word: consistency.

The banner shared you have bears no resemblence to the current GUI (which is terrific and distinctive).

My advice would be to build a banner (and a branding image and plan) around what you already have.

agree devonb - and with huge start-up costs and lots of tiresome phone calls to distributors. then the goods might be on consignment with lots of follow-up crap to get the money. definitely not worth the effort unless you've got a world-beating item - in which case someone experienced in this stuff will probably approach you because they can smell the money

The problem is, MW, that you need to invest a certain amount up front in getting the product packages and distributed, then recouping that becomes a waiting game, with your money going into someone else's pocket in the meantime.

There are a few small devs who have dipped a toe, but only the best-established ones, and then often only for a couple of bits of their product line.

Plus the overhead of effort might not be worth it to a small dev, just doing the admin for such things. Web sales are easy, and you never have to deal with physical issues, ie duplication, package design, shipping, sale or return issues, failed discs, et.c.
