It's been quiet...any word on T7?

A better idea of eta? Or perhaps that video referred to at NAMM?
Really curious as to whether or not tempo maps are included too.
Thx.

Its getting close.......
Automatic tempo mapping is coming this year but will not be in the initial release - will be in a followup - we are working on some very handy tools to make the mapping both accurate/fast and easy to verify
If you have any ideas or suggestions, there is still time to input on that topic

That sounds great!
Personally I'm interested in tools that facilitate calculating hit points to film. DP and Cubase have a few...I'm sure you are familiar with them. If not I can send you additional info.
There's also a wonderful tempo mapping facility in Studio One wherein you can map tempo (using melodyne) and drag and drop that map on to the tempo track. Is that the type of automatic tempo mapping you are referring to? (See video at about 4:50 here: ) If so, fantastic!!
Really looking forward to this release. Thanks folks.

Wowsers. I've been requesting that since at least T1.6 ... knew you'd give in eventually!TSC wrote:Its getting close.......

I was actually going to suggest the following, as a quick workaround / interim solution. This is based on a youtube video of someone doing tempo mapping in Reaper, using key commands.
Quick version would be a request for macro commands that do the following;
1) Add a new tempo change dot to the tempo track at the start of the selected clip
2) Set the tempo of that change to be a tempo based on the length of the clip (there's already an option for "set edit tempo based on clip length". So the code for that exists. Just modify it to set the tempo of the new tempo change dot, rather than the overall tempo of the edit itself
Assign the two macros above to a key command, eg, Alt + M
So the workflow would be that you play the edit, with the track you're mapping selected, and hit the / key to cut the track every four beats. This works, in playback mode.
Then go back and highlight the first clip, which is 1 bar long. Hit Alt + M, it inserts a tempo change at the start of the clip, that makes the clip exactly 1 bar long. Repeat with the next clip, till the end of the edit.
I imagine adding the macros isn't a massive job, but what do I know ....?

I'd suggest the implementationof 'gridpoints': You say if your are going to tap 8th or 1/4 or full bars and Tracktion does the rest accordingly: setting those grid points right there while you tap to the music.

I'm hoping it drops tomorrow. Completely selfish reasons of course: I will finish a project tomorrow and have some time to dig into a new release...!

Not me
- I really wish devs would learn to release cool stuff before the weekend for those of us who, you know, work.

If their concentrating on T7,does this mean they won't bother to make T6 play well with Windows 10? If so I just wasted money on a useless upgrade.

I and many others have no problems running on Windows 10.Badanovski wrote:If their concentrating on T7,does this mean they won't bother to make T6 play well with Windows 10? If so I just wasted money on a useless upgrade.
You may well have a hardware/driver/plugin/other conflict.
If you have anything in your log file you need to inform support specifically. Email them with your particular problem. "Doesn't play well" is not an easy bug to reproduce.
Looking forward to three months of bug reporting with T7
Not all combinations will have been tested

With that being said maybe bug fixing might be why we haven't see Tracktion7 yet? My T6 has had its quirks on Windows10 , as well as other issues in other programs too , its kind of expected with a new OS release . T7 looks loaded with goodies , so I imagine they want it to be pretty solid on release of it . Alot of people that haven't jumped back on since after T3 are interested in this release more so than T4 through T6 . The gui and interface looks revamped and im interested to see what theyve done with racks . It could be they want to include T7 with COPPER ? Who knows ??

I switched from win7 to win10 without any problems in T6.Badanovski wrote:If their concentrating on T7,does this mean they won't bother to make T6 play well with Windows 10? If so I just wasted money on a useless upgrade.
Not playing well?
Can you describe the problem more specifically?
Plenty of help here.

I suspect if you have five grand to put into an audio interface, a bundled copy of T7 is not something that is likely to swing the decision either wayfedexnman wrote:It could be they want to include T7 with COPPER ? Who knows ??

It's 06:30am in Seattle (at time of posting). Give Woody & the boys time to wake up, have a brew, and get some T7 on the go....I hope

How about a tool to convert Audio to Midi Notes?
