Why the latest review of Synthmaster was deleted? [It appeared again]

Any problems with the site? How can we improve KVR?

Hi there,
I was reading the last review then thought to continue another time. But I can't find it now!

It was with very low score, but it had some info about why the reviewer rated it so low. Although, I didn't agree with the rating, but I wanted to check his/her negative points.

So, why it was deleted? Does that mean only positive reviews are allowed in KVR?

It was more like a bug report rather than a review.
Rating a synth like Synthmaster with 1 is more like "self-rating".

There are some rules for writing reviews.

One of my reviews also got deleted at some point. Not because I slaughtered the plug and gave it one, but because in the review I compared the plug to another similar plug, and that is not allowed I think.

So if the guy who lambasted Synthmaster, said something like Synthmaster sucks, buy XXXX synth instead. Then it gets deleted.

Oh I see, but can we change our review and rating?
I ask because it should be logical that as we can edited our posts, we can also do the same with the reviews? So, this IMO should give the reviewer the right to choose and edited/corrected what is written, but to delete it?!

I thought to write a comment to the reviewer and tell him/her that it is not fair to rate it 1 (IMO of course), but I wanted to test his/her bugs that he found before I write my comment.

Hmmmm, I don't know! It seems I believed that KVR is more democratic place than actually it is. Anyway!

Therein lies your error.

I have been involved with a few quarrels in threads, so I speak from some experience that "unsuiting" posts also get deleted there :D

If a thread gets locked, replies inside that thread can't be edited either.

So inside a forum/this forum there are several times users posting can't be edited later.

And as threads can get locked by the OP, it's not just mods that has the authority to lock a thread

As far as I know, forum mods have nothing to do with reviews.
No longer a moderator.

Yup. Anywhere on the site except in the forums, we have access to exactly the same functions as any other KVR member. We can post reviews, say whether we think an existing review is helpful or not, report it to the admins, or join the discussion. That's all.

I can't even look up the removed review to see what the hoo-hah is about or who posted it. What a pity, no reviewland drama for me!

Post

Oh, so maybe the reviewer deleted it (for some reason) then!

Thanks for clarifying the things Mods :)

@Numanoid:
Yes, I know about the deleted posts, but mostly are deleted rightfully so to be honest (mine included) ;)

I read the whole thing. To me, it was not a "Review." It did not describe the synth features, it was a list of feature requests and complaints.

Oh! It appeared now again! with 5 as rating instead of 1 (good progress I think).

Yes, it is mostly criticism and doesn't give a whole picture of the synth. Anyway, the author might update it (and maybe update the rating in the future).

Let's read it again then ;)

I see people saying it was a list of complaints / bugs. OTOH I see reviews praising products in the same format. And those reviews are left up. If the rule is applied fairly, then similarly formed positive reviews should get deleted too.

If it's the review I just read, it seems like it's from a new member with zero posts.
Can't say that's credible. I thought, in order to prevent possible abuse, there were rules about who could post reviews.

Yeah, that's a red flag for me, and have a hard time taking reviews like that seriously. There is another product reviewed by a member who has zero posts as well. Still on the front page/display.
