Is it me or is this a really hard manual to follow? I like the sound of this synth but am having problems even finding simple things like where the arp is, which I guess hidden away somewhere in the interface (I presume in some popup panel?). I thought the manual would be of help but you go to the section on the arp and nowhere does it say where to find it. The whole manual is like this, each section shows how to use a function but nowhere how to actually find it, too many functions are hidden inside popup panels with obscure names.

An overall guide to the whole interface at the start of the manual would be really helpful.

Tooltips would also be very useful - so many buttons don't tell you what they do.

Ok the Arp is at the bottom of the main screen, no need to open any pop ups. It's to the right next to the mods.
If you hover over any parameter and CTRL + H it will give you tool tips.

Thanks - god I was looking down there and didn't see it, it just blends into the mods and doesn't stand out. It is still a popup window though.

CTRL-H doesn't do anything for me (and is a huge stretch across the keyboard anyway - why not just standard tooltips?)

Still think the manual should have an overview of the gui and where to find stuff (including the arp). I keep finding things hidden away.

Yes, there is a lot hidden away. This many options wouldn't fit on one screen. Serum is for that. I agree the manual can be a little tricky. But the good news is, that once you have learned this synth inside out, you will automatically understand 90% of all other melda plugins as they all share the same type controls. Try F1 or CTRL + F1 for tool tips?

I don't own MPowerSynth, but F1 is tooltip in every other Melda plug-in I own.

Yes, there are 3.
F1
CTRL + F1
CTRL + H
There are 3 options because sometimes the host can steal it.
In my DAW the only one that works is CTRL + H

I learned something new today. F1 seems to work just fine in Reaper and Pro Tools. I should try the others and see if they work too.

Yeah, the keyboard comboes are a little tricky, as different hosts let different ones pass. F1 often calls for host's docs, so ctrl+F1 could solve that, but on MacBooks Fx keys are usually assigned to some system function, so ctrl+H can be used instead.

OK so now I can't find the 4 macros the website refers to?

Post

Most of Melda plugins have 4 macros aka multiparameters. However MPowerSynth has 8. Does this answer your question?
If not can you specifically tell me where on the website it says that MPS has 4 macros.

It says 'Each preset features at least 4 macro controls, automatically assigned to standard MIDI controllers such as modulation wheel or expression pedal.'

Ah so the multiparameters are the macros, I was expecting the same sort of arrangement as in the fx with an 'easy edit' page and macros.
