Fish Fillets should be re-released in Uhbik

Hey guys:
I stumbled today (again) in the fish fillets- It's a pity that such good, simple and direct processors felt in oblivion. Now that Sascha is part of the team, I think he perhaps could re-release them (or create something similar) for Uhbik. These fall very much in Uhbik spirit, with simple and direct controls. And they would fill the gaps Uhbik, as a pack, currently have. What do you think?
I understand that the rights to the original code belong to Magix, but something similar, in the same vein...?

We are considering extensions to the Uhbik family, but there's nothing set in stone yet.
That's all I can say for now, because we have not really discussed and decided anything.
If at all, it won't happen soon.
I'm pretty sure though that things like the Fish Fillets won't be part of this, sorry.

That's too bad.... Fish files are something special... Having a 'revived' Blockfish would have been too good anyway

I know that the Fish Fillets cannot be part of Uhbik, but are you meaning that there's no plans for including dynamic plug-ins (like compressors)? I always felt like Uhbik was somehow incomplete because of that#rob wrote: I'm pretty sure though that things like the Fish Fillets won't be part of this, sorry.

there is presswerk already, as an outstanding dynamic plugin.

Sure (and I like and use it often), but it doesn't resemble Blockfish..... at all!Suloo wrote:there is presswerk already, as an outstanding dynamic plugin.

Now you're just trying to get me to tell you our secrets.fmr wrote:are you meaning that there's no plans for including dynamic plug-ins (like compressors)?
A compressor would be a good fit for the Uhbik bundle, yes, but as I mentioned before: nothing has been decided yet, so I can neither confirm nor deny it. Sorry.

I would also love to see a Uhbik DeEsesser please. The old Spitfish was great.

Just want to add stoic note that Bazille-like Spring and Combo Drive would be nice to have as Uhbik too

Yes, it's quoted in the site that he sold the code to Magix, and it was reused in their products now. But I'm sure Sascha can write original code to create some dynamic UhbiksVitaminD wrote:I thought the code for those was owned by another company... even though Sasha wrote them originally..

It's become a running gag here that Urs once hired me with the idea to make an uhbik compressor, but along the way (as we wrote in the Presswerk manual) there were so many ideas that we had to make a full-blown plugin that called for its own product scope.
The fillets days are long gone and, frankly, I'm not looking back. They were sort of a lucky accident. Lacking proper math & analytic skills, I had to do most of the work based on empirical tuning. While this is still the case to some extent, I've gotten rid of some bad habits and preferably can do stuff much better, and in lesser time.
That said, we still plan to extent the uhbik range, but can't serve with a road map. So much work, so little time, as usual.

I used to love tuna, but I've become more and more reluctant because of the ecological footprint.VitaminD wrote:Oh.. perhaps some Fish Steaks?

I really wish they were redone as well. Blockfish is probably the best sounding/easiest compressor I've used and it needs to be redone. Just call it something a different, change the interface, update the alg's for 64 bit vst 3 and it's basically a different product. But not having it maintained was a loss to the music community and not having it redone makes us sad.
I would happily pay for a current version.
