Alphabetical ordering of my plugs

I have an issue with the alphabetical ordering of my plugs. I have them set to custom popup and that part of it is fine. Windows 10 64-bit, i7, Steinberg UR22 IF

Can you confirm:
Each time I launch T7024, either 32 or 64 bit, and then go to the settings tab, and then plugins. If you look along the top for the NAMES column, you'll notice that they appear in no particular order. I must order this column each time I load T7. Shouldn't it stay as I set it. I need the plugs to stay in alpha order here so that they will also appear in alpha order on my custom popup menus on the edit page.

I've reported to tech but seems difficult to explain... perhaps someone can help.

I think you're describing two, unrelated issues here. Yes, the plugin menu on the Settings page should probably recall the sort order, we can add that. But, that shouldn't affect the sort order of any of the menus.

The custom menu (the one you edit on the side of the "Plugins" "Settings" page) should display as shown in the editor. If its being sorted, that's a bug. Other menus should be sorted by the "Selector Sorting" option.

Perhaps you can elaborate a bit by what menu and sort order you are using/expect?

I launch T7, go to a blank edit page, pull in a plug with the + button at the top of the page, release and all of my categories are in alpha order as I organized them on the settings>plugins page under Custom Menu Editor.
I'll drop down to my Synths folder and open it and they are not sorted in any order.

If, however, I go to the settings page each and every time I launch T7, and sort alphabetically under the NAME column, all is fine. The sort order should be saved with the global T7 settings.

OK - I finally got it sorted - no pun intended. I had to choose Custom Popup Menus from the selector on the lower left on settings>plugins.

Now if I could only get the Tracktion Plugs to show in the Tracktion folder!!!

OK - now I get it - T created it's own Tracktion Plugins folder... too bad the Tracktion plugs are not in alpha order in its own folder.

I feel like I really made some progress today.

Can anyone explain how the plugin thumbnails are used? The only place I see them is in the setting tab> plugins.

1.Watch this video an learn how to put the Tracktion plugins in a folder an it will be in alphabetical order automatic.


2. the thumbnails are the pictures of your plugins. Every time you open a plugin for the first time it will take a picture of the plugin, if it don't come with a thumbnails for the plugin you are using. You can select your plugins with the plugins thumbnail selector by right clicking on the plugin tab at the top of the edit page.

Hi - thanks for the info - this is exactly where I'm at at the moment. I noticed that your Tracktion plugs in the Tracktion folder are in the same order I have and they are not in alphabetical order a to z.

Anyone know how to fix this?

You are right. I seen the folders in order so i assumed the plugins were to.

Thanks lay it - I really love T but this is somethings that needs some programming attention. I don't think it's anything that you or I can correct.

Also voting for some sorting for the internal Tracktion and Racks menus. Can't imagine how the menu would look with a big bunch of Racks in and all in random order. It's a little workflow improvement.

The search option is very quick at removing plug-ins from the thumbnail view when you've right-clicked the cross.
