Im not aware of a single DAW that does this, but I think it (a) should be relatively straightforward to implement and (b) incredibly useful.

This would especially be for certain modular plugins and those with 'meta' parameters, which often have indistinguishable generic parameter names (ie 'parameter00' to 'parameter99' sort of thing) but it might also be useful in other cases (ie a description of what's being done to the audio, not just what parameter is being used)

Basically, most DAWs, including Tracktion show the exposed parameter name on an automation track. What I suggesting is that there's a way of showing a user-configurable string instead of (AND/OR) as well as the actual parameter name.

Secondly, while we're talking about meta-parameters, wouldnt it be nice to have some sort of modular 'racks' type thing for automation, where you could eg route one 'meta' automation track to multiple other automation tracks, maybe via some scaling/maths/logic operations. And then maybe even provide an audio envelope-follower plugin that could get recorded/sent to a meta-automation track.
An idiot on Set Theory:

Renoise can do a lot of those things, except it's not modular. It works by using special internal devices in the effects chain, just like Tracktion also does with the Aux Send / Return. There is a MIDI Control device for instruments you can customize to your liking and save presets for, including parameter names, unfortunatly it does not work for effects. There is a potential workaround using a Doofer, which is kind of a Rack in Tracktion, but linear, not modular. It allows one to setup a chain and setup custom control parameters for it, a bit like macros in a lot of synths work. The Meta devices are the real strength in Renoise, a Formula device allowing custom LUA code, a meta mixer with custom values, a Hydra device and so on. Lot's of possible ways to chain and modulate parameters of any kind. Don't think this will really help you now regarding Tracktion, but maybe some inspiration can be gotten there.

Mentioning those because for me, working with Renoise mainly, i felt quite quick at home with Tracktion. A lot of the concepts are similar and could work in either host. I'd love the Sidechain implementation from Tracktion in Renoise for example. There is the obvious difference of one being a Tracker and the other being a linear approach, but there was also times where Renoise didn't even have a mixer and worked pretty much like Tracktion does currently. Getting a bit sidetracked here...

To make it short, i'm all for your suggestion to have that in Tracktion too. :)

I think Mulab works with meta parameters.

I support your request.
