Whenever I load this Active Preset I get a loud crack. More than +3 dB.

Actually while working on my MXXX expansion I am getting frequent overloads and crackles when starting the DAW, it seems to be somewhat related to a lack of pre-roll with presets that induce latency, so if you start the DAW exactly on the bar where the FX is active, extremely loud bursts can occur, especially when the granulator and a waveshaper is involved but also with other modules. Here's the thing - these things just can occur. Filters in general need some time to adapt to the signal and the only way to let them is to fade-in, which isn't really the way to go 
. So a simple solution - safety limiter

Hmm,
Turn on the Limiter just in case a preset generates a loud noise on loading? 90% of the time we will forget to do that anyway.
PS I just tried it with the Limiter enabled - I still get the crack (this time at -0.1dB). Remember that that is when there was no audio signal going into the plug-in.

I set the Output Gain above the meters to -0.1dB and the crack no longer occurred. I then set it back to 0dB and still no crack. So it seems that the preset is corrupted in some way.

I have not tried many, but have not noticed in those that I have tried.
Attached is the resaved preset file; you might see some difference between it and the original.

Aaaha, I checked and there's really some hardcore compression + gain, so I'm actually not so surprised. But to be honest, I don't see it as a big problem, a little click here, that's all. If you feel it is such a problem for you indeed, just use the safety limiter.
