And I mean softubes modular. IMO would be quite nice to see for example some kick ass U-He oscillator module and some scientific math box that isn't available from softube.

I would rather see them expand their own modular offerings - Been waiting since ACE came out for an ACE XL, and Bazille could be so much more with the addition of more clocking options/trigger inputs/sequencer expansion for more of a west coast eurorack type experience.

The answer to the question is so complex, it'd make my head explode tonight.

I'll try to make up my mind and produce an official statement some time soon, I expect this question to come up once or twice every now and then.

From the looks of it, it's like if Zebra was mixed with Ace or Bazille? you can call up different modules and then connect them with cables?

That sounds like an extraordinary amount of complexity. Personally, Zebra is already as insane as it gets! I mean, I'm sure some super synth-heads will love it, but the kind of modularity that Softube Modular allows seems esoteric haha.

I dont know why but i feel Software Modular enviroment like Softube's aproach is quite a narrow niche (but just my opinion), product not as much for musicians but just synth enthusiasts who cannot afford real modular hardware.

I have tried Softube modular and its very unintuitive software synth. Tho the sound is gorgeous. But as a musician i dont see myself spending time on that thing.

IMO complete opposite. I've tweaked so much sounds and fx out from it that I wasn't able to do with basic synths, that I have material for a pile of new songs :D

I think a developing Zebra 3 might be an alternative to Softube modular. But...
1) But here is a good thing. Softube even did not bother about "low CPU" whiners. So that will mean awrything will be high end and not watered down. I care about people who listen to music i make and i want to give them the best.
2) By reading Uhe forum i got impression that Uhe wants to pleasure "low CPU" whiners so that will mean compromises in Zebra modules. And at my opinion it will totaly sucks if Uhe will go this route. Because there have to be a lot of garbage already awailable with low CPU requirements. But to make something high end almost always requair high CPU. And unfortionaly there is a very limited number of music companies who make truly high end music products.

Hopefult i am wrong about Uhe. And certainly i wish all the best to Uhe.
