Hi folks, new user here. I've been downloading and installing MuLab yesterday.
For now I have the following question - when I start MuLab the play and loop buttons are activated and the transport bar is moving.
Is it possible to turn this off?
Cheers

Hi and welcome,
to turn off the loop, simply click on the symbol but the line you highlighted can not be turned off.
If you mean the auto scroll feature you can disable this in the preferences,
go to the top left click on "mulab" and choose "edit preferences".

They mean the auto start of the transport that happens when you load the demo project, I think. The auto start will be off as soon you save one session of your own (to quote AndreasD's answer to me from MuLab 6 days -- still nothing in the documentation gets a hit in Google for this).

Hello, yes, that was the reason. Thank you.pljones wrote:....the auto start of the transport that happens when you load the demo project, I think. The auto start will be off as soon you save one session of your own.....
I have another question. My setup is a PC with Win 8.1, Intel i5, Focusrite Scarlett 2i4. When MuLab is running I get a CPU Load of ~ 4 - 5 % in the Windows Task Manager.
I'm using ASIO4ALL as audio driver. No matter what ASIO settings I try, after a couple of minutes the playback starts to crackle.
What ASIO settings are you guys and gals using - i.e. are there already threads about this to check out here in the forum.
I tried buffer size 512, 256, 128 - nothing solves the crackle issue. I wanted to add an mp3, but it's not allowed.

Doesn't the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 have a compatible ASIO driver? ASIO4ALL isn't advisable except when unavoidable as it's an extra layer of processing.
Using ASIO4ALL on two interfaces at once is also going to cause problems in my experience, so only use it for one at a time.

Yes, but then you need to connect speakers/monitors to the Scarlett's output. It's not possible to route the output to the speakers that are connectet to the soundcard of the PC. I don't have room for a bigger Monitor System à la KRK, ADAM, Yamaha HS etc.pljones wrote:Doesn't the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 have a compatible ASIO driver?
With ASIO4ALL you can route the input to the Scarlett and the output to the PC soundcard output (Realtek).
With Core Audio under Apple Mac/Logic 1x this works with no problem/latency/buffer issues. Seems like I have to try some other DAW's on the PC and see if I get the same crackle issues with them too.
