How does an external audio editor (Izotope RX4) work on a Mac in Tracktion 7? (SOLVED)

Hi,

I am using Tracktion 7.1.1 and trying to use Izotope RX4 advanced as an external audio editor within tracktion.

I select an audio clip.
Then select - View Source Info
Then select- Edit Audio File

The pop up window does not show the option "Set the audio editor to use".

I saw this option on a tracktion 7 video by lay it productions.

If I select the option " Launch this wave file in its default application" it opens and plays in itunes.

Does anyone know anything about this or how to make Izotope RX4 advanced the default appilcation or how I can use RX4 advanced another way?

I am using an imac (late 2013) with mavericks 10.9.5

I am new to mac I just got some of my software's up but still in a loading mode at the time. Again I am new to mac but it sounds like you would need to make the Rx4 your default audio playback on your mac
Not in tracktion then select the wave editor option in Tracktion and I think this will work being there is no option to set the default editor because this option is made in the audio section of the mac. I could be wrong but this is what it sound like is happening to me. I hope this work

I don't have the Mac version and I haven't watched LIP's video, but this is what I did with T6.

On the Projects page, choose a project with audio tracks. Highlight one of the wave files.

In the Properties panel, click the button called Edit Audio File. It should include the Set the audio editor to use... option. Follow that and locate your editor.

After I did that, the pop-up from right-clicking an audio clip in an edit includes an option marked Edit using audacity.exe. Yours may differ.

The option "set the audio editor to use" was not there again on the projects page in the properties panel when you click the button called "Edit Audio File".
Seems to be different on a mac.

Yes you need to change the default audio playback on the mac to RX4 (your external audio editor). Thanks Lay it prodctions you are correct.

To do this right click on an audio file (not in tracktion) and select Get Info.
In the pop up window go down to "Open with" and within the drop down window select your audio editor (RX4 or find it with "other").
Then select change all.

Then in tracktion when you select your audio clip.
Select "View source info".
Select "edit audio file".
Select "launch this wave file in its default application".

It will open up in Izotope RX4.
Do any editing.
Then to get it back in to tracktion choose "file" from the drop down menu of RX4 and choose "overwrite original file".
When you go back to tracktion it will replace the file.
