I was playing with the Glitch2 demo so I could see if I could set it all up without digging into the modular view (Yes!! :hyper: ) when I noticed that Glitch was receiving MIDI an octave too high. Weird, I thought. So, I checked another plug-in. It's receiving MIDI an octave too low! :dog:

What's going on here? I can insert a MIDI transposer to make up the difference, but why are these VSTs not screwing up in the same way, or at least receiving the notes being sent?

Did I flip a switch somewhere? Does everyone have their own ideas about what number C4 should send? There are no preferences anywhere to fix. :scared: This is truly annoying. I am bordering on somewhat peeved!
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

Yes, basically. There's no real "standard". All you can say is that MIDI Note 60 is Middle C. What you choose to call MIDI Note 60 is up to you. You could call is C0, C3, C4. It makes no difference to the fact MIDI Note 60 is Middle C. It's why I try to use MIDI Note numbers for everything. There's no confusion (just complexity ;)).

Thanks for the reply. Didn't Dave Smith write all this down somewhere? :D

Oh well, I guess I will have to transpose. :?

(Apparently I'm in an emoji mood today. :hihi:)
