Possible to split duophonic voices into separate midi channels?

I know that currently duophonic notes are sent on the same midi channel when receiving notes on multiple midi channels (note per channel mode). But unfortunately this means that essentially you lose duo mode entirely because it plays both/all oscillators for every note on each channel, so you lose that cool effect from ring mod etc. IT would be really cool to have that individual note expression and bending per note and have the duo mode still work. Is this a possible improvement?

Another related question - Is it possible to turn off the ability of Diva and Bazille to accept notes on different channels? So it would behave like a normal synth where it accepts on any channel, so mono/legato modes would work normally even if the controller is sending notes on different channels?
