Hi folks,

next update is here ;). 10.04 is an important update and comes with several new improvements, features and some fixes. It is recommended to install this update. To do that, get the newest version from MeldaProduction download page and use it.

Additionally MTurboEQ, a vintage-style equalizer inspired by most of the well-known classic hardware, has been released. It is free for MTotalBundle, MMixingBundle and MMasteringBundle users and now available for an introductory price. It has been added to MXXX and MPowerSynth as well.

Somehow I have a feeling that the demo-mode for unlicensed effects in MXXX core is something that my wallet is not gonna like :)

Thank you for this gem! Is there a way to change the names of the different models for the user? :D

My pleasure
I'm afraid it cannot be changed (you can hack it, but next installation would overwrite it anyway). You will just have to read Melda all the time :D.
Edit: There's never enough Melda :D :D

(Edit: too slow, but already typed)
You mean the names in the Preset selector on the left-hand side?. If so, then nope, they are built in.

PS You guys have noticed the stepped controls using the radio buttons, haven't you? What a good addition (available for all Multiparameters too).

All multiband plugins now receive MIDI from all channels in the first band if there is only one band. If there are multiple bands, 1st band receives MIDI from channel 1, 2nd band receives MIDI from channel 2 etc.
How would I use this in the plug-ins (other than MXXX)? It's not linked to the MIDI settings (controllers / notes) is it?

I don't understand at all. MIDI settings are not really related to this.

On that second point, I was just asking for clarification that the new feature is not related to the MIDI Settings. And you have confirmed that, thank you.

But my main question is: how would I use the new feature? Let's pick MMulltibandSaturator, with 3 bands. Incoming MIDI on channel 03 is received by the third band - but what can I do it it? (I reserve the right to have missed / forgotten something obvious.)

Aaaaaha :D. In MMultiBandSaturator it is absolutely useless :D. But in MMultiBandHarmonizer you can control what band 3 generates using MIDI channel 3. It was always like that. But now if you use just 1 band, it will react to all MIDI channels.

Got it, thank you. It was the "All multiband plugins now receive ... " in the Release Notes that got me wondering what hidden mysteries there were.

To my ears the Sonimus SoneqPro high shelf still sounds sweeter and softer than Melda eq's, also with 4x oversampling enabled. And Sonimus thereby doesn't eat up that much cpu.

I get crashes (Cubase) when opening e.g. the MTurboComp GUI during playback from time to time. Never had that before. Anybody else having this?

(@Vojtech: is sending you Cubase crash dumps of any help?)

Post

Hmmm, crash dumps on windows are pretty useless sadly, we should rather try to trigger that somehow. Does that happen to anyone else?

OK I'll observe it. Doesn't happen to often, so, not too bad.

Did I say that I like the sound of MBassador a lot? It gives the balls to your bass :D However one thing, processor 2 and 3 rely on pitch detection, right? They sometimes seem to lose pitch or jump on changing overtones when the signal has some life in it. I wonder how LoAir by Waves does that, I only demoed it but afair it works on any material.
