No thread on this! Anyone using it?

https://www.kvraudio.com/product/overdu ... -klanglabs

It sounds really great! And its free.
Aimed very much at dubby atmospheric delays.

I am looking for help though.. It is giving me a cpu spike in FL Studio. :scared:
It is like the Synth Edit thing, where it spikes a certain number of seconds after pressing play, every time. Ive tried all the buffer settings in FL's wrapper with no luck. Any ideas?

All the Klanglabs(*) stuff was Synthedit.

(*) No relation to Klanghelm.

I am also sad becourse I am not able to use this, and other old 32-bit goodies, my new system will be 64-bit, and no wrappers,..

What are my chances to use them still ?

I consider building an extra 32-bit machine with the only purpose hosting old 32-bit stuff, is it any good idea at all ?

Could I just lounch the old plugs in some host on this extra-machine and route signals like any other external hardware ?

What would be the best solution for both effects and instruments ?

Set the wrapper to "Bridged" :D it helped me in some cases.
Edit : and/or UNcheck "Allow threaded processing".

Oh well I guess that would be it then. :hihi:
I was thinking this was something like the thing SE stuff did years ago where I would just have to tick some combo of the buffer options in FL to get it to work, and that wasnt doin it.

Ticking 'Bridged' for some reason, seems to stabilize it!
Thanks Yeager! :tu:

Oh nice! I haven't used Overdubber for years, but it was one of my absolute favourites something like 10 years ago. Pleased to see it get a new lease of life in an update. I'm a bit more well kit out with commercial delays these days that do pretty much everything Overdubber did and more, but I'll be checking this out ASAP.

Hi guys. Spyro (Sacco) here from Klanglabs. I'm very glad for the positive reviews and comments about Overdubber 2. It's one of my most cherished projects.

Chiming to help.

1) It is Synthedit yes. I've put a lot of effort to make it very stable and CPU friendly. I don't consider SE to be inferior to a coded VST. A well made SE plugin (such as all my creations) behave pretty good and give no compatibility issues. I've used internal CPU saving features SE provides to keep the CPU usage low., as low as 0.5% in my machine.

2) You can always use it in a 64bit DAW. Some have their own wrapper such as FL studio (I think Sonar too) and for those DAWs without a wrapper you can always use Jbridge. I use it with Studio One 64bit (along with many other 32bit plugins) without any issue or extra CPU usage. Jbridge is very very good.

3) No MacOS support. While the newest SE supports Mac VST3 there aren't equivalent 64bit modules to allow me port it. I can't say if there is ever gonna be a 64bit version since is out of my reach.

4) Please feel free to report any problem. I'm happy to help. If you wanna post presets for it I'm also happy to include them in the next update.

5) Feel free to ask how to use it more effectively. I think I'm just gonna record some videos explaining my KL plugins and how to get most of them.

Have fun!

Or use a VST subhost that can load 32bit if jBridge doesn't work for you

I love Overdubber 2. The 'Explosion' feature is just wow! :D
