T-Racks Plugins Show as Very Small Blacked Out Box

Using Tracktion 6.
Struggling for a few days now to install one plugin I purchased from the IK-Media T-Racks Custom bundle, the Peluso style EQ. Why is it taking so long? Don't ask.
I am following all their instructions and the IK-media site I am registered for the plug.
My question is more of a Tracktion question.
Whenever I click on one of the T-Racks plugins it just shows up as a small (1"x1") blacked out section of the screen with nothing but a close 'X'. No controls dials buttons or zing-ama-bobs.
The registration has been a nightmare and I'm still not sure I'm out of the woods...I'm dealing with IK-Media about that.
Just wondering if anyone has ever seen Tracktion do this with T-Racks or any other plugin. If I had to guess 1) it is due to some funky registration problem 2) just an indication that the plugin is faulty? 3) Incompatibility? They say it should work with Tracktion.
I don't know about that blacked out box. Doesn't seem good, real bad I'll bet.

I get the black box with some FL studio and Nuendo plugins in Tracktion I think this is the Gui problem with the code on them plugins. I also get the black screen while using J-bridge to use 32 bit plugins in my 64 bit version if I load a VSTi on a track without a midi input on that track an try to assign it a input, poof black screen. But it only happen if its done in that order for some reason. I have been using T-Racks for 4 years now and I never had a problem with loading there plugins so I would say reinstall the plugin and if you haven't downloaded and installed the whole custom shop, the open custom shop sign in. Now got to the top of the custom shop screen and select the button the read (restore my gear) now rescan for the plugin in Tracktion and this should work.

Thanks for asking.lay it prodctions wrote:Did you only download the plugin or the whole custom shop and is this 32 or 64
I tried to download just the one plug I purchased from IK-Media but it just sent me to their installer.
I ran the installer, provided the serial number given to me by MusiciansFriend. It loaded the whole T-Racks Custom package anyway. Of course, nothing works because I don't have a license for anything but the plug I purchased.
Here is the best part. they gave me about 30 unusable plugs to clutter my system BUT THE VINTAGE TUBE EQ that I purchased was not included in the massive download! How do you like that?
I have a 64bit Win7 machine. It downloaded both versions of each plug, but I am using 32bit Tracktion, because of plugin compatibility problems..
As I said, they failed to provide the one plug I purchased even though that is the download link that I followed. Strange.

Good to hear you have had a good experience. I will try again, but the lack of the plug I purchased is something I have reported to IK-Meda and would be the issue even if I could get anything to load. I shall persevere. Thanks for your post in response to my problem.lay it prodctions wrote:I get the black box with some FL studio and Nuendo plugins in Tracktion I think this is the Gui problem with the code on them plugins. What's the name of the actual T-Racks plugin you're trying to install?
They don't do one called the Peluso EQ, or anything similar, so not sure which one you're having bother with. I do have other T-Racks plugs working in Tracktion, although I totally agree their registration system is a pain in the balls.

He must mean the EQ1a. Do it this way it should would if you have purchased the plugin from I-k multi media. Go to there site and download the free version of custom shop you will get a free classic EQ and a metering plugin and also the T-RACKS rack to it up to twelve T-RACKS plugins, once installed don't open any DAW yet open custom shop first and sign in now select the tab at the top that read restore my gear, now click the my gear tab and you should see your plugin you purchased. Now scan for the plugins in your DAW, hope this fix itchico.co.uk wrote:What's the name of the actual T-Racks plugin you're trying to install?

I think I see the problem its the name of the plugin as I mention in the last post, if you loaded custom shop then you have all the plugins even the ones you don't own . once you loaded the custom shop the plugin name change in the vst folder to(T-Racks CS PROG EQ 1Asworkshop wrote:lay it prodctions wrote:

I'm not sure what I finally did but I was able to get the modules to load this time and your comment about the name was most helpful. The the culprit was likely something in their authorization manager program because if I skipped that I was able to get everything to work. Certainly not saying you don't have to register but perhaps one of my earlier failed attempts put enough registration information somewhere that I was allowed to proceed. To answer the question posed by my own title; if plugs show as a black box it means they are they are screwed up

I recently rebuilt a laptop and had to authorise a bunch of IK plugs again.
So I paid to download the sounds again for Sampletank3 because I hadn't backed them up, and for some reason it costs me money to download the program I've already bought off them ...
Anyway, did that, went to authorise the plugs, and it said the Authorisation Manager is outdated, download the latest one, and links to the page to get it. Okay, do that, install the new Authorisation Manager, repeats the same error, and download the latest version of auth manager ...
Absolute pain in the arse, their copy protection system. I've bought the fecking things, don't bill me again, then not install

Go around every thing by downloading the latest sample tank custom shop install everything don't go to the authorization, open custom shop, sign in select sample tank at the top of the screen now under (sounds)select restore my sounds. It will now work the same way I said before for Sample Tank and also Amplitube, it should work. Using this way you will never have to use your authorization code just sign into custom and select the restore tab and it will automatically authorize all you plugins, sound packs, or Amplitube products but each one mst be done separately. You can put it on as many computers you like if you use this method, use your authorization codes and the run out, don't tell know body I told you the trick

Cheers for the tip ...
The daft thing is I've got about 7 authorisations left, because it's such a pain getting >100gig of sound library installed and onto a new laptop. I bought the Total Studio bundle when it was on offer, but have barely authed half of it, cos laptops break, and i never get around to putting the sound libraries on an external fast disk, so i end up installing on the main drive (note to self - must do this)
It's not like I need extra auths, i just need it to work when i try, and ik's system is one of the worst i've tried. Anyway, enough moaning, first world problems etc

I must say I have not used sample tank lately don't have modules only still have my sample Tank 2 files I hope they still work in the latest download, because I see they did not load and it only seemed to work best for me as a stand alone I will give the newest version of this and Amplitube a shoot but they both sound great butthe older versions was heavy cpu I hope that this is the fix
