First column not working

Hi
When I load an existing project with 4 tracks
in session mode the first bank is blank
for example to start a clip on track 1 I have to press pad 2
and so on

if I make a new project all the pads are correct

is there something I can do to correct it

I don't know what controller you're talking about but first thing that comes to my mind is that you have a hidden track in your project, have you tried toggling the 'show deactivated tracks' button?
