FR: Export parameter values to automation envelope in host

I would like to be able to write the parameter values into an automation envelope in the host (Reaper, in this case). Then I can use that envelope elsewhere. Now, I can do this if I change the parameter myself using the mouse.

But what I would like to do is, for example, modulate the parameter within the plug-in and capture that movement in the host.

In the example below I am modulating the Dry/wet' parameter which I have also assigned to Multiparameter 4 (which I have named 'DW' (just to get it into the screenshot).

You can see the Easy screen knob move and the envelope slider in Reaper move too, but the envelope points are not written into the automation envelope. I've been advised that this can be achieved if the info passed back to the host has the necessary control / statuses set. (The principle is valid as I have done it with a plug-in from another dev).

Perhaps I can just use the [W] button in the Modulator - off to investigate.

Otherwise, some method of editing a set of "automation-writeable" parameters? Perhaps an Automation R/W window (similar to the Global Lock window):

Hmm, I'm totally lost - are you saying the automation is not working? Or that modulation is not working? Or something regarding both at the same time?? On the GIF there's no mouse cursor, so I have no idea what you are actually doing.

Sorry, let me try again:

-- I enabled Write Automation for the Modulator.

When recording the automation in the host, I got the automation for the Modulator, as expected. What I would like to do it get the automation for the parameter itself.

So I was suggesting having a new button ("Auto R/W") positioned alongside the "Lock" button. It would pop up a new window which would let me select one or more parameters. When enabled for Write automation changes to their values would be reported to the host, for capturing (as is currently done for W-enabled Modulators). (I'm not too sure what should happen if those parameters were enabled for Read automation. Ignore any modulation, perhaps, as the Modulators do?)

Aaaaaha, interesting, but I'm going to let you down. First, dev time as usual , and also this has a similar problem as recording MAutoVolume automation, in fact it already has that with the modulator, so I'd rather remove it completely . Anyways I really don't want people to encourage doing this, sorry.
