Click Track Question

OK, this is probably a very stupid question, but....why does my click track keep getting recorded along with my audio input? Is it because I need to enable ASIO Direct Monitoring on my audio card or something? I'm sure there is a very easy solution, but I'm really tired right now and not thinking clearly. I really haven't encountered this before, but I can't seem to fix it. Changed the output for the track, etc., but nothing. Thanks in advance for any help!

Somehow the output is probably getting fed back to the input. if you are using a mixer and running both the input and the output thru the same mixer that could be the source of your problem. If your soundcard has a patchbay there is a chance that the loopback is occuring there.....
Other than that, I don't have a clue...
good luck..

I don't think there is a way to actually record the click track's audio, directly within Tracktion, so I'm going to guess that you have mananged to create a loopback somehow.
Possibly your sound card has a virtual mixer that allows you to route outputs back into inputs. If so this may be what is happening.
There may be a much simpler reason too, but I'm tired and hard of thinking as well..

A-ha! You might be right about the soundcard patchbay! I'm using a new E-Mu 1212m audio interface that does require you to set up the monitoring, etc. on virtual channel strips. I have done some reconfiguring of that lately, but I thought everything was fine with it. That certainly could be the problem, though. I'll check it after I have had a chance to get some sleep. Thanks for the fast answer!
